Questions & Answers

Can the top box be purchased separately

Asked by Animal October 3, 2020

Thank you for your interest in Extreme Tools products. The item you are referencing is a combo consisting of part PWS4105TXBK (top) and PWS4124RCTXBK (bottom roller cabinet). Both items can be purchased separately and through The Home Depot online.

Why is the black one more than the red one. Aren't they the exact same thing except color

Asked by Ian February 15, 2019

Yes, they are the exact same thing except for the color

I purchased this Extreme Tools 41 inch 11-drawer rolling cabinet a year ago and was satisfied with the purchase until I rolled the unit into my garage, which has a slight height difference at the threshold between the garage slab and the driveway. Even though the toolbox wasn't fully loaded (much less than each drawer is rated for as specified on their website), rolling over the 1/4" garage lip caused the sheet metal underneath the cabinet to buckle on the seam, right where the caster is bolted to. This buckling causes the two cabinets to lean about 10 degrees, and i'm unable to roll the cabinet safely now. The other caster is starting to bend as well due to the mismatched height of the two back casters. After calling the company and submitting a warranty claim, the company representative states that "the owner of the company has determined that this is not a factory defect." and have stopped responding to communication. So I'm out over a thousand dollars because Extreme Tools will not honor their own warranty. Buyer beware, these Chinese made toolboxes do not hold their rated weight and the US marketing company that rebrands them has no intention of standing behind their product.

I bought this toolbox over a year ago to replace my old Craftsman box. All I can say is that this is a professional toolbox built as good as Snap-On if not better. I found the socket holders on the drawer fronts to have quick access at your fingertips. I love the sliding drawer that I can put my laptop in with the built in power. The power workstation is great for easy access to all your hand tools and power tools. I would highly recommend this toolbox for anyone that is a professional mechanic. I've been a mechanic for over 20 years and I've seen all the other brands and nothing else will come close to keeping your tools as organized as this workstation.

My classmates and colleagues are jealous!!!
Great box, the top organizes enough stuff that it leaves alot of room in the drawers for more tools. Easy access to Connolly used tools. Only thing i don't like is the placement of the power strip, and also my very smallest sockets don't fit onto the organizer pegs, but I'll blame that on the craftsman sockets. However, once the sockets are organized it is a little difficult to read the socket size because the two rows are very close together. But if it's your box and you have some common sense is not hard to find the right socket. I can't say it enough that the benefits far fat or weigh the very few negatives. Very high quality. Definitely professional grade. The locks could maybe use an upgrade.
