Anyone please... I thinking in using the epoxy on top of my kitchen counter.. now... My counter has about 4"in back splach that still part of the whole counter.. it's made of laminate wood bucher block type finish. HOW to keep apply the epoxy on the 4"in area?? Will the heavy glaze start to slide down and form a ripple or wave ? Use a sponge brush?? on this specific area and even it out... ?? Thank you.. Nates555

Another thing to consider is that epoxy is EXTREMELY REACTIVE with silicone. If you have a bead of silicone between the backsplash and counter you will have a horrible mess there, the epoxy will actually travel "uphill" to get away from the silicone and there will be horrible craters. Even a tiny bit of silicone contamination will trash your project.

The amount to apply at a time is 1/8th of an inch. It will take two coats to get to your 1/4 of an inch.

I put two coats on an Extinct Reclaimed Wormy Chestnut farmhouse Dinning room Table. The set up took me a week at least. I did this in a clean Dinning room. Covered the Floor with cardboard then plastic. The set up is vital to having great results. I had a Heat gun and Propane torches staged. The work time was about 30 minutes at 70 degrees, After 5 Hours I applied the second coat. The results were amazing. I would watch every video on you tube at least 3 times and have a partner help..

As it hardens it doesn’t create as much of bubbles as well. The coat is very clear when it completely cures. The amount it comes with it very good for the price.
