The First Edition's® Coral Magic Crape Myrtle is the perfect tree for your yard if you are looking for a small but vibrant myrtle. Coral Magic grows only 6 ft. to 10 ft. high and wide. Because of this, it fits nicely in smaller yard areas. Despite its small size, this crape myrtle will "wow" with its bundles of vibrant coral-pink flowers. Before the tree blooms, new red foliage emerges. By summer, it turns to dark green. Coral Magic is hardy in Zones 7-9 and should be planted in full sun with well-drained soil. It is mildew and leaf spot resistant. The plant is shipped in a #3 pot with a minimum height of 18 inches.
  • Produces beautiful coral-colored blooms
  • Mature size of 6 ft. to 10 ft. tall x 6 ft. to 10 ft. wide
  • Drought tolerant
  • Mildew resistant
  • Tree height at time of shipping varies based on growing season

It says the best time to plant is fall to spring but I'm eager. How risky is it to plant right now in Jacksonville FL?
Asked by: Bud
As long as you keep a good watering schedule on it, it should transplant just fine. You want to avoid under watering and over watering, so water once the first 2 inches of soil are dry. Rest the tree upon arrival for at least 24 hours and plant the crape myrtle once it appears to no longer be frazzled from shipping.

Sorry to say that my Crape Myrtle died after having it for a year. I have other plants and trees that are fine, but it didn't like my yard in Pittsburgh.
