AnswersThere may be some confusion about this product as they do sell two similar products: one that is perforated, and one that is solid. They even have a perforated version with soil sock for about $10 more. If you are redirecting water you should make sure that the label indicates solid pipe.

This is a light duty water transfer pipe. I had a rainwater collection project to fill my pond and needed some thing cost effective to connect into a main line. This pipe fit the bill. I saved about 50 -70% of the price on a heavier duty pipe cost. Just remember this pipe is not meant to have any heavy traffic on it, You really want to install it in a no traffic area. I ran it down the side of house. It was super easy to install just stretch it out dig your trench and cover. This type of will bend and over around tighter curves much easier than the heavier stuff making it a lot faster to install. I had a about 2 inches of rain the next day and the pipe performed as expected with no leaks.

The downspout from my roof gutter runs under the lawn and dumps off a bluff above the creek. This was a wet winter and the bluff has been terribly eroded. I plan to attach this pipe to the PVC and run it down the hill. One of the benefits of this pipe is that the ends are different sizes. One end screws nicely onto 4" corrugated pipe. The PVC is 3 inches, thus an adapter will have to be glued on to connect this pipe. The expanding nature of this pipe provides easy shipping and easy transport when bringing it home in the car. Being flexible it will conform to the contours of the bluff.

There was a lot of water collecting around my house when it rained so I bought two of these so water would drain a good distance from my house. It was raining tonight so I went out to see how they were working. Went to the end of the tube and noticed it was still dry inside. Went back to where it connected to the gutter downspout and noticed water had collected there again. Looking closely at the product, I noticed water was leaking out little holes that extend the whole length of the flex-drain pipe. There are four holes that go around each 'ring'.

During the crazy Portland flooding, my dry well started backing up and water went directly in to the window well. Had a short piece of piping leftover from last year that wasn't long enough, attached the 25 ft to the shorter pipe and got the water away from the house. Not the prettiest sight, but it has held up over the last month and will probably be used for another month or two.

We have a deck and yard project and needed to move all the water from the house gutters to the back pond. We used this pipe underground with extensions off the soon-to-be-deck for further collection in to a system that moves it out past the property line.
All the water from the gutters are funneled into three water tanks and when they fill, the overflow goes into this pipe and travels under the new retaining wall. I don't have pics of the progress, but this is what the final result is. Now for the deck!
