Do I need to have gravel above and under the tube? Or, it needs to recover with dirt only.

I think dirt would be fine if you think you would never have to dig it up again. I'm using gravel around mine just in case I ever need to go back in to relocate the trench for any unforeseen landscaping purposes. That way I would be less likely to damage it than if it is encased in dirt.

Could this be used as a dryer vent?

I suppose it could if you can pull off the transition from the dryer outlet to the pipe. Also, I expect that the corrugated interior will be a huge lint trap (worse than dryer vent hose already is). I would not connect this HDPE material directly to the dryer outlet because of high exhaust heat hazard, but I'd bet it's ok within 5+ feet. I can't imagine that's any hotter than heat exposure to, lets say, Arizona desert sun where HDPE is used all the time. HDPE is tough stuff. But it's very rigid to install, not air-tight at joints, and if installed permanently, probably not code compliant. Some polyethylene compounds might even off-gas when exposed to dryer heat, especially when new. As for myself, I would run permanent dryer venting using only rigid sheet metal vent pipe and soft arcing bends that minimize lint collection. More expensive, but less risk.

I am sure you can but it is an expensive option. It is much cheaper if you use regular drain pipe.

Yes, you can connect it to a rigid PVC pipe by using a 4 in. Corrugated Pipe Adapter Hub x SPT, Home Depot Store SKU #721301.

In most area, burying the pipes 8 to 12 inches below the surface is adequate. This measurement is from the top of the pipe to the surface of the soil, which means your trenches must be slightly deeper to accommodate the pipes.

(What's this)
This pipe arrived unboxed and undamaged. It seems well constructed and appears to be solidly built. The plastic is not thin nor flimsy. The pipe is corrugated, so it is easily shaped to fit most applications. I have attached mine to my gutter downspout and with a required adapter it works great. I have had this pipe installed for about a month in all types of weather; no leaks or cracks. I highly recommend this item.

(What's this)
It is good to know that this pipe is compatible with other corrugated drain pipe so you don't need adapter to mate with other pipe for extension. Since the pipe is flexible in the mid section, it allows you to run your pipe with less fitting. At least, ideally the next fitting will be at least five to six feet away from the building given two feet of the pipe is above grade connecting to gutter's down-spout. it is important that storm water is channeled away this far so that it will not compromise your house's foundation. Would recommend duct tapping the joints of each fitting below grade to minimize leakage. Tree root loves to grow into places wherever it can find water and if it does, it will clog up the pipe.

This is a pretty simple products. The ends of the drain pipe have the barbs for connecting multiple pieces together, or attaching various fittings. This product does what it advertises. Slip it onto your gutter it will divert water from your house in whatever direction is needed. The High Density Poly Ethlyene should last a good time time. I am satisfied with this product.

(What's this)
I have had some flooding issues around my work shop in thee past and added evetroughs to route the water away. The problem was that I needed to move the downspout extensions every time I had to move a trailer around, so when I found these drain pipes I thought I would bury the drains and get the water out to the woods. They were very sturdy and I liked that they joined together without buying extra parts. T'd into my downspout and ran 3 of these with a slight slope out to the woods and it has fixed it all.

(What's this)
This is a drain pipe. It is about as good as drain pipes come. The rear corner of my house was causing a washout due to the gutter downspout just pouring on the ground. Luckily for me the wood line was about 20 feet away, so I dug a trench and ran a couple of these pipes from the down spout, under the ground to the woods. After the first rain storm it worked perfect! These are a great solution to a rather common problem.

Was quite disappointed that the 10 ft “Flex drain” brand corrugated drain pipe because it was made differently than the 25 ft section “flex drain” pipe previously purchased - the 10 ft section was only adjustable in the middle two feet and the end connections were different. I was lucky I had some “older” fittings that worked - if I had it to do over again would buy another 25’ section and cut it to fit.
