Answer This Question

A:  The instruction I received with my blocks stated a max of 5' between blocks , it recommended either 2x6 or 2x8 joists spaced either 12" or 16" oc. 2x4 is never recommended for joists. There was a spacing chart but it honestly didn't make sense. There is a website I found - fortdecking.com with contact info if you wanted to clarify the requirements.

Makes deck building easy
I got this a couple of weeks ago, but we had to wait to start building our new deck because of the constant rain. I guess it comes in a pack of ten, but we only received four. That works for our purposes because we are just adding a small deck. These blocks really are great stabilizers and make it much easier to construct a deck with solid 4x4 posts. If we expand later, we will definitely purchase more of these.

I like the product and highly recommend it but they sent me the larger sized deck block by mistake. So now i have one project with a mix of small and large deck blocks and another project with just the larger deck block. Luckily, on the second project, i had not pre cut any lumber so i was able to make adjustments.
