Excellent quality foam for wall to wall carpeting. Very large roll. It is compressed and pieced together. It's not as wide as can be, but it will serve its purpose for smaller rooms. I initially thought this was for a different purpose. But, upon receiving it, it is clearly for wall to wall carpeting. I presume that it can be used for other purposes as well, where you may need a moisture barrier.

I would recommend this product however I have noticed that there is a crackling noise just like some of the other reviews say. However so far I’ve only put it under one of my 5 x 7 area rug in my living room. once I got my area rug over the top I didn’t really hear the crackling noise too much. however I do have a 100-year-old house with wood floors, so they crackle anyway. it cut very easy but it does rip easy if tugged on. And yes, it’s very heavy to move around.

Pretty simple on the installation. We were originally going to put carpet down on top of the wood floors but that would mean the doors would have hit the carpet. If you plan on putting over wood, you will most likely have to take it up first.
Instead, we decided to pit the padding down under some area rugs to make it more comfortable to walk on. You can see in the picture it is barely noticeable on a larger rug.

This padding is very comfortable to walk on. Even tho the padding does not come with installation instructions, it us very easy to install. If you are replacing carpet padding then all you need to do is pull up the old padding and put down this padding in its place and install your carpet. If you are putting brand new carpet in a Room that did not have carpet impacting before, Then you will need to lay your tack strips down along the edge of the wall and then layout your padding. This padding is very comfy on your feet. I love the fact it has a moisture barrier, as I have 2 dogs and a toddler.

Super thick carpet pad gives such a luxurious feeling to your carpet. This will protect my bad back from fatigue and pain from standing on a minimally cushioned surface. The top of the pad has a robust moisture barrier, so the pad won't get wet and mildew when a spill seeps through your carpet. Great for pet accidents and drink spills. My install of this future foam carpet padding is a bit unconventional. I am using it as padding and sound insulation on the floor of my vehicle. It is purported to have decent sound deadening properties, so I am giving it a go. The padding cuts somewhat easily with scissors. I did encounter some of the "hard bits" that other reviewers had mentioned, but there did not seem to be very many. It was not an issue for me. I have had the padding on the floorboard of my car for several days now, as I step on it and kneel on it while doing other things to the interior of the car. It is holding up well, shows no signs of damage or wear. The pattern on the padding makes for a good reference for cutting. All in all, this seems like a good product. If the sound insulating properties are decent, I will be very happy

First off, this roll of padding is REALLY HEAVY so make sure you have help moving the roll! This pad is really high quality! I added an additional 300 square feet on to the back of my house and extended my master bedroom an additional 10 ft which made my bedroom 12x19. This pad (when bought by the roll) is 6'x45' for a total of 270 square feet which was enough to fill my room along with a little to spare! The spillsafe moisture barrier is a great feature to keep liquids from soaking through the padding and it provides ample insulation to keep the floor warmer in the winter! It's the only room in my house that will need carpet (I'm still waiting for the carpet to arrive) because I like to walk on a warm floor when I get out of bed on cold winter months! This 8lb density, 7/16" thickness makes the floor feel really soft and warm!
This padding is made of 90% premium recycled materials and you can install over concrete, vinyl, tile and wood subfloors. It's also MADE IN THE USA which is a huge plus! A high quality pad will also make a lower quality carpet or rug feel far more comfortable! This pad is certified for high traffic so I'm expecting it to last for a long time without wearing down. In the past, I would just purchase an average padding and now I know what I've been missing! This pad makes all the difference!

The Future Foam StepAhead 7/16” Thick 8 lb. Carpet Pad adds cushion and softness under my area rugs. My flooring is set over concrete and the rug pads that I had for my area rugs didn’t add any comfort, but this padding changes it all. “Your carpeting is only as good as your padding” is what my dad (a retired carpet store owner) always said. I found that the pad cut easily with scissors and the seams hold together neatly with heavy duct tape. I especially like the moisture barrier to protect my floors from spills and grandchildren’s visits. The Future Foam padding is durable and we are more than pleased with its performance.

Best carpet pad I’ve ever used. The most important part to any good carpet or rug lays in the quality of the pad. Most people want to cheap out on that part to save money and l’m telling you don’t do it. We don’t have any carpet in our house but rugs are another thing we have so many rugs and runners and we have carpet padding on every one we have. We have a new puppy also as well and we all know they can be fun to potty train so we had to buy a new rug and with a new rug for us comes new pad and holly cow this pad is thick and soft the Nike grind is a game changer. Also this pad is water proof so spills and dog pee will not go thru to the floor. We have had the padding only down for a day and with our thin rug it makes all the difference. We could not keep our puppy and 6 year old off it and my son keep saying how soft it was. Summery buy this padding for you next project and you will understand and not regret the purchase.

This carpet padding comes in a roll that is 6 feet wide, 45 feet long and covers 270 square feet. It has a moisture barrier which keeps any spills from above from being absorbed by the padding and retaining the moisture. I am using it under some area rugs to give a little cushion under foot. My only concern is the multicolor pad will possibly bleed out and stain the floor. I think I might exchange this for a foam product to prevent that from happening. Overall it is very dense and has definitely improved the feel under the rugs.

Thank you for your feedback. The multicolor foams within the product will not bleed through and will not stain the floor. This rebond style product is the number one type of pad in the industry and manufactured utilizing variety of different foam types bonded together to meet appropriate densities.
