I am happy with how this project turned out! It totally changed the vibe of our kitchen. Here are a few things I learned that may help others: - I watched the videos on the fasade site for tips - I went over existing glass mosaic tile which we didn’t love, I did clean and lightly sand it - I used a yard stick and a fine sharpie to mark my straight lines, rubbing alcohol removes any excess marker - After trying several tools to cut, I ended up using my cooking shears (you do need a box cutter for the outlet holes) - Apparently nothing in our house is actually plumb, I was surprised how much trimming I had to do to each piece even after measuring, this definitely added to installation time - The window sill took the longest because of the curves, I made a template out of freezer paper then traced on cardboard and tweaked till it was right before tracing on the tile itself - I used the fasade tape, it was easy, went very fast and seems very adhesive, but found it wasn’t super forgiving, you have to have the alignment pretty close to right before getting too close to where you want it - just take your time. I used more than they recommended, the 3 horizontal pieces plus several small pieces on the sides (I used 2 1/2 rolls for the entire project) - I didn’t use the trim or corner pieces, I thought it looked fine without - The seams are visible, but don’t catch your eye (see pic) All in I spent about $200 and 12-14 hours on it, not too bad for a backsplash make over!

This product came out really nicely. Pretty easy to install and looks great. Little fins leave for my taste but easy to work with. Would recommend to anyone.

i purchased a new oven and wanted a backsplash to protect the wall behind it. i looked at various types of materials but decided on fasade - it gave me the look of metal i wanted, but the ease of cleaning and durability of vinyl. my space was pretty tight, and wasnt exactly even. and due to size, i needed to cut 2 sheets into 4 pieces and put them together with trim to fit the space. but since sides, top werent totally straight, i decided to hold the pieces together with painters tape as i made the adjustments. then i adhered all the parts together with Beacon Quick Grip. when done, not only were the seams nearly invisible, but i had one piece instead of several to adhere to the wall. if you are installing in a smaller space and you need to piece - id suggest you tape your pieces together with blue painters tape - back or front - to insure you have the exact fit you want instead of adhering each piece to the wall separately.

Would this product work for us? We had a double oven when our laminate was installed in 2002. We just replaced all of appliances and now have over the oven microwave and new range. There is a gap where the contractor did not put the laminate (see photo).
