I understand this bulb (and other similar LED bulbs) are NON-dimmable. My question is why that is and can I safely use a 3-way switch to produce a low/med/high effect? I plan to string 5 cabinet fixtures together (so 1 switch = ALL ON/OFF).

They May not be dimmable but the do have a high and low on the dimmable switch. You can have a very low or very bright
