7-Watt Equivalent C7 2700K White LED E12 Night Light Bulb (2-Pack)

For an antique night light in our powder room, this fixture is quite fragile and the Feit LED bulb provides soft warm color temperature yet produces no heat. A perfect fit inside the housing.

I tried the LED night light bulbs a few years back when they were first introduced, but they just didn't provide the same glow as the original filament bulbs. It might have been because they were clear and not frosted, though. I decided to give them another shot, and these are actually really good! We primarily use them for holiday plastic blow mold decorations, and they're almost indistinguishable from their incandescent counterparts; once we get them all using LEDs, they'll look uniform again. Where these don't do so well, though, is in actual night lights, specifically the kind with darkness sensors, and that's the only reason I deducted a star. They just flicker non-stop, so we can't really use them for that application. For night lights which are just on/off, though, they're fine.

I'm so glad I finally found C7 LED bulbs in a soft white. They are a little brighter than regular C7s but still not glaring. I've had C7 string lanterns that I love on my back porch for probably 20 years so you can imagine how many regular C7 bulbs I've gone through. They always seemed to go out at different times too so it seemed I always having to replace them, which was a chore because I have to remove the silk lantern shade to do so. So now I don't have to worry about replacing them so often. Oh, and little wrens also like the lanterns to sleep in at night some times.

It works well! The one quibble I have is that the image of a bulb on this page is of an old design - the one I purchased has black writing that wraps all the way around the bottom 1/3 of the bulb. (See attached photo.) Our nightlight has a kind of unusual setup where part of the bulb is visible, but it's thankfully not been a problem for us. However, I do wish Home Depot would update the product listing. The writing is the only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 - this wouldn't be a good choice for something like a window candle or a chandelier bulb. But if the bulb is inside of some type of covering, you'll be all set!
