The Fernco ProFlex 2 in. neoprene gasket shielded coupling provides a quick and easy connection. It can be used with cast-iron, plastic, steel and copper drain, waste and vent systems. The coupling is rated for above ground use only.

Q:Can this be used to connect Cast Iron to PVC or CPVC?

A:  Not this particular part numbered one. If you read the connection description it connects cast iron (CI) or plastic (PL) or steel (ST) to copper. I believe the part number you would need is the P3000-22 which connects 2” cast iron, plastic or steel to 2” cast iron, plastic or steel.

      A:  There is no stop but the coupling is smaller on one end.

        A:  sure, just trim the little lip inside with a sharp utility knife. then you can slide it over the 2" copper line easily.

        A:  I would think that this coupling could be used on horizontally mounted pipes as long as the pipe is well supported going both ways as this coupling is not ridge and would probably leak if it had mechanical pressure on it.

          A:  Either or. Pipes must be supported and the coupling needs to be torqued down.

            flex fitting
            I needed to replace a "TEE" fitting, and I used a black neoprene TEE plus I cut out a section of pipe which I replaced and connected the pipe section with this coupling, giving me more flexibility in installing the TEE. I had to replace a TEE that faced the wrong direction. It was very difficult but without the neoprene tee and this neoprene coupling, it would not have been possible
