Questions & Answers

can you harvest the beans from the green beans and let them dry to eat like mashed beans and what...

Answer

Thank you for your question. This variety is used for snap beans and not for shelling. Varieties that are good for shelling are Fordhook, Henderson and Roma. Stringless Blue Lake, FM1K (Pole) are a snap bean as well however you can leave on vines to dry and then shell. The shell beans mentioned above are bush beans and will grow to approximately 20" wide. The Stringless Blue lake is a vine and you will need to support by a trellis or netting to keep off ground. In hopes this helps or if we can be of further assistance don't hesitate to reach out to our customer service team at 508.285.5800. Our best to you this season.

Why are my green beans growing sideways on the ground? I was told I didn't need support but now I feel like they need it

Answer

Thank you for reaching out. Blue lakes are a bush bean and should not be running along the ground. With that said I'm not sure really what is happening to you and would ask you to call our customer service team at 508.285.5800 EST. If they are running along the ground and you want to keep them they will need a trellis, netting or some type of support system to keep off the ground. I apologize for not being of better help and what is happening to you.

More seeds than expected!
I especially like that these are organic. Also appreciate the tips on the back for a newbie like me. As mentioned in the title, I felt the quantity was greater than expected. Thanks, Ferry-Morse.

Less than half the seeds came up!
Planted 4 packs of seeds in individual starter planters and less than half of them came up. Very dissappointd in this product. The company would not respond to my complaint. I would not purchase their product again.
