This would be a *very* bad choice for sandblasting. Sandblasting sand is size-graded to fit through the nozzle and system, among other things - you may very well damage your system using random other types of sand. Just because it says "silica"doesn't mean it's the same as sandblasting sand. (Believe me: I get the idea of saving money, but "sand is sand" couldn't be further from the truth. It's not even like saying "hey, gas is gas" - it's like saying "fuel is fuel" - and putting diesel in your Porsche.)
Fire-proof silica sand is an excellent base layer for a fire pit. Silica sand can be used as cost-effective filler to cover the bottom areas of a fire pit. Fire glass or lava rock can be added on top of the sand for effect. Mike
