Questions & Answers

Can they protect your hands from splinters from dealing with wood

Asked by: Tae
These are NOT ideal for heavy work. The fabric surrounding the fingers is very thin: splinters and sharp objects won't be stopped. The palm and fingertips, though, do offer some protection. I've done some rough carpentry with these and they're fine for working on plywood and construction lumber. If you'll be doing demo work, you're better off with a pair of good leather gloves or (much more expensive) kevlar gloves.

Do they protect your hands from thorns such as a rose bush thorn?

Example: I have looked at the manual and can't figure out what I did wrong.
Asked by: Ashton
These gloves are not suitable for protection from thorns. Except for the palm and fingertips, the remaining fabric is rather thin and sharp objects can easily penetrate. General gardening work would be fine.

Are they good for electrical work

Asked by: linesman
As long as they fit your fingers they would be good for most of your electric work. NOT made to do detailed work. (i.e. picking up small screws, using small wire nuts, installing cover plates.....)

Would these be good for pulling steel cable gor a winch

Example: I have looked at the manual and can't figure out what I did wrong.
Asked by: Cameron
If you are pulling winch cables daily; I would recommend a more heavy duty pair. For recreational weekend use, they will work.

Large Heavy Duty Work Gloves is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 248.

They are classified as heavy duty but they couldn't handle 2 hours of swinging a sledge hammer and moving a few pavers. The middle fingers on both gloves tore out right away. I have attached pictures and you can see the gloves still look really good from the tops and hardly worn on the palms. These gloves were $21+. Don't waste your money. I should have bought a couple pair of the $3 leather gloves and just thrown them away. Now I need to see if I can somehow return them or contact the manufacturer for a refund.

Saw these gloves and thought 20 bucks well the other big cheap gloves only last about a week or two. So I said to myself if I spend the money these should last twice as long.. Heavy Duty Right ? Started falling apart the first day 5 hours into my work day... Are You Kidding Me... So Mad !! I'll have to have a custom set made I guess.. And maybe start selling them cuz I know these is a demand for good work gloves.. Gonna start designing them next week..

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 1 day and failed This is the first time I've purchased these gloves. I usually buy the other black and gray gloves that they replaced these with. The finger tips came apart on these 3 hours into the work day. I go in and out of gates to yards. Just opening the gates made these gloves fail on the fingertips. The other gloves were better, but always failed where you pull them to put them on. These are not worth the money if you intend to use them.

My cheaper pair of Firm Grip lasted four times longer than these, doing the same work. The first thing to go was the fingertip coatings, and the side seams on several fingers blew out on both gloves. Given my other pair were half the price and lasted so much longer, I am not willing to give them another try. In my experience, these were a bad purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good gloves I have been using these glove since they came out near about. I am an electrician and these gloves fit..."like a glove". They are firm with a flexible give to them. On my hands, the glove fingers don't bend over because they are slightly too long. They are durable. I constantly use them, pretty much daily all daily, and I get months out of them....

I have been deconstruction and salvaging an old late-1800's home and used these daily throughout the process. They are tough and comfortable and stand up to abrasive situations such as rough lumber and masonry units. I will buy these again when I am doing remodeling framing and such.

I've ran through many pairs over the past few years. These tore in multiple spots the first day I used them. I tossed them out before finishing day 2 and went back to my old pair that I bought these to replace.
