Are they water proof?

Asked by: Wendy
Very doubtful, there are some rubberized or nitrile dipped cold weather gloves that would be better suited if you need waterproof.

I just bought these gloves today. I can't find the "hand warmer pocket" for the life of me. Please HELP! I'm also interested in horseback riding with these gloves this Sunday. It's going to be 20' with a wind chill = single digit temps. Will the keep my hands warm?

I needed something insulated, because the cold grip gloves were not cutting it. These insulated work gloves fit the bill. The freezer is 10 deg. below zero. I can be in there for about 30 min. with these gloves before I need to come out and warm the fingers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good medium/light weight glove, starting 3rd winter I dont exactly hard use these gloves but I am not easy on the palms, and they are starting their 3rd winter. I primarily use these gloves while backpacking and hunting. The hard tasks these gloves see are things like splitting wood and the constant friction from trekking poles. That being said the palms are still going strong, but the fingers have never had a hard life. They breath easily enough that when you are really working hard, your hands wont freeze in their own sweat. In easy conditions like walking the dogs, the gloves kept me warm down to about 30-35 degrees F when they were new. Now that they are starting their 3rd winter 40-45 is about when I start wishing I had warmer gloves. When I am working hard, these gloves are still good for me to about 20-25 degrees F, as long as they stay dry. Rubbing a little vaseline or oil into the leather will help keep the leather dry if you have to work in snow, but it still does not make them waterproof.
