Questions & Answers

Would these be good for pulling steel cable gor a winch

Example: I have looked at the manual and can't figure out what I did wrong.
Asked by: Cameron
I would go with something a little thicker, these offer great dexterity but if I'm doing something that i know is rough on gloves then I use something different.

Can they protect your hands from splinters from dealing with wood

Asked by: Tae
These are NOT ideal for heavy work. The fabric surrounding the fingers is very thin: splinters and sharp objects won't be stopped. The palm and fingertips, though, do offer some protection. I've done some rough carpentry with these and they're fine for working on plywood and construction lumber. If you'll be doing demo work, you're better off with a pair of good leather gloves or (much more expensive) kevlar gloves.

Do they protect your hands from thorns such as a rose bush thorn?

Example: I have looked at the manual and can't figure out what I did wrong.
Asked by: Ashton
These gloves are not suitable for protection from thorns. Except for the palm and fingertips, the remaining fabric is rather thin and sharp objects can easily penetrate. General gardening work would be fine.

Are they good for electrical work

Asked by: linesman
As long as they fit your fingers they would be good for most of your electric work. NOT made to do detailed work. (i.e. picking up small screws, using small wire nuts, installing cover plates.....)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality and lack durability. I bought these gloves around 3 months ago for use in general 'handyman' type of work; nothing strenuous, and nothing performed in great frequency. 3 weeks after purchasing them, the thumbs on both gloves have ripped open at the tip, the rubber pull-tag on for the velcro closure has completely ripped away from the right-glove, the white plastic finger guards have cracked apart and disintegrated, and 6 of the 8 'faux carbon fiber' knuckle guards have either fallen out of the glove, or cracked apart and crumbled away. Pretty terrible quality for something that's supposedly made to endure heavy working conditions, and over the past 3 months I've done nothing more taxing than replacing a kitchen sink with these things. For comparison, I have a cheap pair of work gloves I bought at Target for $5, and they're still going strong with no rips, tears, or faults whatsoever...and I bought those back in 2006. If you're looking for tough, reliable, high-quality gloves - these are not it. Save yourself the $20 and look at a different pair.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk They were comfortable and great breath ability but they ripped out at seams after about 12 hours of landscaping. Not worth the $20 spent on them. Save your money on this one.

I buy these gloves several pairs at a time, because I have YET to have a single pair last more than 3 weeks before they rip out at the palm, at the base of the thumb, or around the wrist. The fabric they use is like a felt material that has completely inconsistent durability, and just disintegrates with any hard use. I use these as riding gloves on my motorcycle, because I have extremely large hands, and these can stretch to fit and keep me protected while riding. Most gloves, if my fingers will even fit inside, will end up being too long at the end of the finger, getting in the way of my handlebar controls.
