Mine came a little cloudy, or possibly with a scratched surface, not sure, but I could not see through it as well as another door viewer that I had ordered from another website. Mine may have just been a one-off lemon, but it only cost $8 here, so I threw this one away and used the better one from the other site.

Pretty good product
I must say it looks great installed, just be careful when installing. When I was screwing it into place the viewing shaft end attached to the viewing lens itself came off. I was able to re-attach it although not as securely as it first appeared. Still looks great and offers a good viewing angle, but not as durable as I would have hoped.
