Answer This Question
A:Â Below are mounting instructions for the 1970 Patio Door Pin:
"1. Close sliding door completely and mark desired location of hole at center of inside door frame as high as possible to clear glass. Be sure drill will clear glass.
2. Drill 1/4" diameter hole completely through both walls of inside door frame and through one wall only of outside door frame.
3. Slide retainer on pin, inserting small notch in pin through opening in retainer, then turning slightly for a secure fit. Insert pin into hole and adjust retainer so that screw openings line up vertically, mark these screw positions.
4. Remove pin and retainer, drill 3/32" diameter holes for retainer screws and mount retainer with top screw only.
5. Insert pin as far as possible through both doors. Measure excess pin extending from retainer and cut this amount off end opposite of pin head.
6. Attach chain with screw through remaining hole in retainer.
* IMPORTANT* Before installation, check with patio door manufacturer for door specifications. Failure to do so may result in glass breakage."
An image of an installed patio door pin can be viewed on our website, www.firstwatchsecurity.com. Simply type the model number, "1970" in the search bar.

Well made, Sturdy, Easy to install. Very inexpensive addition to security. If you do not use a board at the bottom of the door, it would be worth getting 2 for top and bottom.
