Blade chipped in first 5 minutes of use
Using these to cut green branches no more than an inch in diameter. On the last cut I could feel the blade breaking. Sure enough look closely and its chipped (on left side of image). The last one of a different brand lasted about 7 years before this happened.

Excellent for the money
Excellent for the money. Sturdy, decent cutting ability. Most of all I like the adjustable handles.

This is the 2nd set of Fiskars loppers I’ve gone through in the past 5 years. The original set had a stopper snap off so when you cut the branch the handles wouldn’t stop so you would smash your fingers. Tried duck tape to make a bumper, but that failed. Saw these re-designed loppers and got them. Was pretty happy although the blade did get knicked up pretty quickly. I haven’t heavily used these, but today went to cut a rather small azalea bush, and the blade snapped. I couldn’t beleive it. Could’ve been real dangerous but “luckily” the blade stuck in the bush. I’ve had many Fiskars tools and overall pretty happy, but not sure what I’ll get next. I’m wary of Fiskars after the last 2 fails

they cut everything really well but the locks failed to secure and you're always fighting the mechanism itself. they either need to get solid handles or make better locks.

This product makes the cut
I bought this set of loppers to trim some Bamboo which seems to have taken over every square inch of my already very limited patio space.
The loppers cut through even the thickest and oldest bamboo like butter without needing the extension handles. I would say the max size root or branch you will fit in the cutter is about 2 inches. One thing to notice is that you have to open the handles pretty far in order to get the linkage to open the cutters all the way. This could pose a problem when working when access space is limited.
The extension mechanism is surprisingly smooth and is easy to use. Overall, this is a solid set of loppers.

Listen to the poor reviews
Bad design: To get the blades to surround anything at or larger than about 1 inch, the blade's hooked shape require you to spread your arms extremely wide to open them, so in use you rarely get any reach advantage from the extendable handles. Blade chipped after 2 minutes, too. So I returned it and got the tiny Fiskars Super Pruner in its place. That one is short but cuts Much easier, and handles 100x better. A longer version would be perfect;, a step stool will do.
