Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, the axes are made in Finland.
I have one and ended up buying the next size up too. The x7 is not good for taking down anything over 8" diameter efficiently and awkward for 2 handed swings. I dropped it on concrete while not thinking and the blade shattered.
The Home Depot site and the blurb accompanying the link to another site say that it is manufactured in Finland.
Went Home Depot today just to purchase this hatchet. It does not come with a sturdy head/blade protector. It comes with plastic hanger (instructions state that it is not to be used as a blade protector). I went to my hardware store and purchased the Fiskars replacement model that comes with a sturdy head/blade protector.
I think Fiskars has the best warranty around
I think it can , I think it can, it does have protective bumper guard on the opposite end of the blade.. I use this side to tape walkway stones back into alignment with no difficulty and/or damage to bumper guard.
I think you might want to see if they have any regulations. The renaissance festival has specific hatchets/axes that have enlarged heads.
not sure but its sharp and cuts thin
From what I could tell the all black is the original design they had. The first one I bought 5 years ago was all black. The newest one I got was black and orange, but they are they same from what I can tell.
This is the smallest without losing efficiency
