Questions & Answers

the blade is replasable ? if so were to find it.

hand pruner
Asked by: ricardo
In my opinion, it doesn't appear that the blade would be easily replaced. I am sure at the price point where this product is at, replacing the whole pruner would probably be the easiest! Good luck!!

These will be for finer cuts - deadheading and 1/4" or less small branch pruning. I have an older pair of a competitor's that i will use on woody branches of a 1/4" or greater diameter. From the construction, it seems that these would hold up to larger diameter cuts, but i prefer to use them for finer work. The handle is comfortable and i was able to unhook the latch with a finger while holding them in the same hand. They appear to be razor sharp but i do not wish to test that feature with my thumb or any other finger. They will hang on a nail and the center of gravity is such that they hang cutting blade up. It might be nice if one of the handles had an enlarged tip, through which a hole could be drilled and used as a point of hanging. But no nig deal.

After the first time I opened it, however, I could not get the wire to slip into the machined groove made for keeping them closed. I even tried to stretch the wire with needle nose pliers, but to no avail. The pruner is now dangerous because it will not close. I plan to return it. I have used Felco pruners for years, and they are far superior to the Fiskars brand. I wish my local Home Depot still carried the Felco brand, as that is what I went to purchase. I was told they no longer carry Felco pruners, so I will need to shop elsewhere to acquire them.

They tend to dull more quickly and just be made more poorly. I used to prefer Corona pruners, but Home Depot doesn't carry them. I guess it's on me to spend more money and get quality pruners rather than these "disposable" Fiskars.

Nice sharp blades that make quick work of trimming thin branches. Only problem is that I’m a smaller woman with small hands and the ‘open’ position on the handles is a little wide for me.

Please do not settle for a lesser tool! Highest grade metal construction and finish. Feels good in your hand.... Cuts with much less force - far less hand fatigue.
