I've used a lot of different pruners over the years.  This is among my favorites, it's small, ergonomic, and efficient.  I use it routinely to cut back small growth from around a heavily wooded property.  It's small size means it is simple to stow in a cargo pocket and its superior functionality is great. This thing cuts through small branches and limbs without issue and is easy to keep sharp.  Most of this tools predecessors have gotten tossed in the trash due to wear and tear.  This one has lasted three seasons and shows no signs of rust or other impediment.  I just finished using it extensively for a spring cutback and it performed flawlessly. An additional convenience is the tools ability to be used equally well in both hands.  I'm right handed, but I've also used this tool while climbing trees to cut shooting lanes for deer season and the ability to hold on with my right hand and cut with my left is additional value added.

However, at present, I can only award four(4) stars because of a very minor flaw that is quite irritating: When pruning inside a large bush, aiming the open jaws toward the next target is made very difficult by the fact that the black color of the "shear-jaw" makes it impossible to see... thus aim. I'm going to paint the top edge of the "shear-jaw" gloss-white, which I'm sure will solve the problem; but why don't you do that for your further customers... and earn your 5th star?

The new ones are my wife's now and she really likes the way they even trim and cut back some of her delicate flowers. I have several of the Fiskars pruners and limb cutters that I have bought over the years at Home Depot and like all of the extremely well as there is a lot of quality built into each and every one.

They are reliable, tough, and easy to sharpen. The only time I have had to replace this pruner is when I mislaid my last one in Hurricane Irma debris. Fortunately, I replaced it within 24 hours and am continuing cleaning up the yard and garden. It is very versatile tool and easy to handle, even when wearing garden gloves.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fiskars 5.5 in Bypass Pruner I purchased the 5.5 in pruner to cut vines and weeds in my suburban back yard. After one or two uses they stopped cutting cleanly and would pinch rather than cut. I assumed I had bent them by cutting too big of a branch. So I bought a second pair. This new pair also did not cut thin vines even when brand new! I will not buy another!

Some of the vines were thicker than the rated cutting capacity and these clippers cut them like butter. They are a great little one handed pruner. I have a handful of Fiskars hand tools and these are of the same great quality that I've come to expect from Fiskars.

When in Home Depot, at the time, these were the only pruners available. I looked around the store, and asked an associate and these were the only brand and style available, so I picked them up. The associate suggested at $9.98 they were 'expensive' but that's what I expected to pay, so they weren't expensive to me. And at the end of the day, they do what they are designed to do, trim bushes, small tree branches etc. They are sharp and sturdy and worked perfectly for the bushes I needed to tidy up.

I go through many garden tools and this one holds up better than the rest. The worst thing that ever happened with this particular model was the plastic handle slipped off the metal support. I bought it again anyway. For the price it lasts several years of intensive and frequent pruning.
