A: I couldn't find it listed anywhere but I would guess just by rubbing my finger over it somewhere between 200 and 400. If you want something specific I would get a diamond file that has a listed grit number.
A: Absolutely no idea. I use it on scissors and pruning shears and it sharpens them. I have to resharpen again in awhile but I am happy with it. In fact I have purchase three of them.
