A: The dimensions are the only differences. These are super splitting axes, so they are meant for splitting wood. They are more ideal for taller users.
A: yes, a plastic one that encases the ax head. This is by far the best ax I have owned.
A: Hi Thomas. Yes, the X27 Super Splitting Axe comes with a sheath.
A: Fiskars x27 is the best axe I’ve ever used, had it 3 years, split many cords of wood with it, handle has hit the wood many times with no breakage, no head coming loose!!! You’ll Love It!!

A: I hate to admit that I have missed a few blows in the time I have had this ax and not only does the handle take it but the shock in minimal compared to the old wooden handles. For splitting, the ax is faster and lighter. I can work much longer and stronger than with the old conventional splitters. I have also used this to fell a few trees and it is great. This has been a very good investment for me and I recommend it for anyone who burns wood for heat especially. I even bought one for my son for Christmas last year.
A: It's a Splitting Axe. It is made for splitting wood not chopping. The axe head is wider then a cutting axe so it can wedge or split the smaller sections of a log.
A: Yes, this axe is the best, cuts wood like butter.
A: Yes you could, but this is a splitting axe, not a felling axe.
A: Absolutely. Depending on the size of the tree, it may require a lot of work and sweat. Sometimes it is easier to use a bow saw to cut down the tree.
A: You sure could use it but not sure why when there are chainsaws. This however is not ideal for chopping. You want to buy a chopping axe for that purpose.
