YES AND NO. YES: IF YOU ADD SMALL AMOUNTS AT A TIME. ADD SMALL AMOUNTS WITH A SMALL METAL SCOOP. NO: IF YOU ADD TOO MUCH AT A TIME YOU COULD SMOOTHER THE FIRE AND THEN YOU WILL HAVE TO RELIGHT IT.
