AnswersMine has held up here for one winter with no problems ( Rockies ). My guess is the sun / heat will destroy it before the cold.

No UV resistance, they become brittle and break off. I bought two full sets for our house, each lasted about 18 months, worthless! A good idea but made of cheap plastic.
Can trap mold

I've had 6 of these White Flex-A-Spout Downspout Extensions on my house for about 8 years. Two of them on the southern side (which gets sun all day) broke apart, the others are still ok. I did notice when I changed out the old ones that there was mold on the inside, the accordion areas of the extension trap water and that's where the mold grows. I'm going to try some wet & forget sprayed on the inside to keep the mold from growing, that product is fantastic BTW. It reactivates every time it gets wet. I used a 1/2" weatherproof self tapping screw to attach the extender onto the downspout (see pic). I used to use metal extenders but my lawn guys always seem to hit them and bend them up, that's why I went this route with the plastic, they even held up thru about 4 hurricanes!

Down in the spout

I had to add this to the existing down spout to make the water stop eroding the flowerbed. It cut very easily to fit on both spouts, as pictured.
This Product was EXCELLENT! Matched my Color scheme Perfectly, and was the correct Length.

The Flex-A-Spout solves our drain problem which was to get water away from house in the shortest distance possible. Normally water came out of metal down spout and flowed along side of house foundation a distance which was not good. By use of Flex-A-Spout I was able to get water direct out of the metal down spout, make a 90 dgeree bend and run it away from house foundation and eliminate the puddling it was doing along the foundation which is not good. Especially in winter when the puddled water could freeze. Very happy with the results.
