You should use spacers like the floor instructions recommend. The excess underlayment is not a good tool to use to set the floor away from the wall. The spacers are still needed. HD sells a kit that comes with a bunch of spacers and the Z shaped bar needed to tap all the floor planks in place. The kit is about $10 if I remember and all you need to have is the hammer. The kit and spacers are worth it for a clean install.
Yes, I feel it could be used on most sub-floor types.
Yes. We used it over plywood subfloors for our wood laminate flooring.
I used it too and also used floating ceiling with that super heavy soundproof drywall and you can still hear people walking heavy upstairs. I don’t think there is an answer to heavy footed people. At night you can ware ear plugs.
We also have tile in our kitchen over a cement base. However, we did not use this product for that. We brought a leveling compound to make sure the floor was even (no one want to trip of a time that is not the height as the others). We decided to go with a hard wood floor for the rest of the house (just one huge room upstairs), that's why we used the underlayment , to work as a noise reduction, and it works great. I hope this helps.
FloorMuffler LVT is the underlayment that should be used with Luxury Vinyl flooring products!
Hi Soni, please call us at 800-440-6008 and we will help you find the best solution based on your substrate and floor covering choice. Thank you.
floating means there is nothing "nailed" to the sub-floor. You can use this product on top of wood flooring and laydown laminate on top, no problem there. But why would you hide wood floors with laminate?
The intent is to have the flooring installed directly over the the underlayment. Applying it over the Sureply would defeat the purpose. So in short, I would say no.
I'm not sure but I would call the manufacturer if this is important to you.
