good product
FloorMuffler 300 sq. ft. 4 ft. x 75 ft. x 0.08 in. Premium Underlayment for Laminate, Hardwood and Engineered Floors
I used this underlayment over 3/4" old oak hard wood floor (on second floor) and under 3/4"x2.5" Solid red oak floor (I did not like different looks).
The building is about 80 year old solid red oak, amazingly the old floors have held up over time. As expected they are pretty creaky and get very cold with the weather. I got one advice from an old guy to spread the baby powder over the old floor and work it out in the seams of old floor to get rid of the squeaks. For this new floor I wanted to bring as much insulation and noise reduction as possible. The floor is now installed and it feels warmer and more solid, the noise is also a consistent noise throughout and the squeaks are gone.
The install itself was easy. I would purchase again.

High quality.
i needed to replace some laminate flooring and i wanted new underlayment. the underlayment used by the contractor was paper thin and on top of a cement floor. the floor felt very hard. this floor muffler underlayment is a little padded so i ordered it. it arrived in three days and in new condition. it is much higher quality the contractor used and is is thicker, this is perfect for a concrete floor, i am very happy.

Super product
This is a super easy to use product that works great. I tried putting a floor down without the underlayment, and it did not go well for me. Definitely worth the extra time and money, which is about the only complaint about this product. At the price, you will want to measure correctly because you will not want to buy another roll for a small section. Follow the directions and you will not be disappointed.

Multi purpose barrier
This FloorMuffler underlayment provides noise suppression, a slight thermal insulation and a full moisture barrier. The nice feature to insure continuous moisture barrier without overlapping the foam itself is a folded flap of plastic sheeting that you unfold to bridge the gap between strips of foam. There is also an adhesive strip to hold your starter course in place and to connect between foam strips as needed.
It tends to curl a bit but the adhesive does a decent job holding the end in place. Be careful walking on it as you lay flooring and you’ll wind up with a nice job! I’d recommend testing a couple small strips to get a feel for the adhesive and positioning.

Nice light-weight underflooring
This roll looks much heavier than it actually is. When it was delivered, I expected 20 - 30 pounds at least. The roll might weigh one pound. Very light weight, but looks to be made of a material that will withstand pressure and use.
I am using it underneath a laminate flooring that has a cork-like backing to it. I need it more for the tiny bit of extra height, and less for the sound deadening, but I believe it will cure both ills. Also, my floor boards tend to be creaky in my house, so after i throw a few screws in the sub-flooring, I'm hoping that this helps. At the very least, it should make for a quieter upstairs room.
