Hi Jane,
Thank you for providing feedback on the Floortex Polycarbonate Ultimat. We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing movement on your chairmat. The grippers on the Ultimat are there to help prevent movement – unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that the mat will stay in place on all types of carpet. However, there are a few things we can recommend to prevent the mat from moving:
• Re-measuring your carpet to ensure that the padding and the carpet is over ½ thick. You can measure your carpet thickness using a paperclip and pushing the pin through the carpet and padding until it hits the subfloor, then measure the distance on the pin from the subfloor to the top of the carpet pile.
• Ensure the mat is placed on carpeted floors as opposed to a loose weave rug. All gripper back mats may struggle to grip to rug piles.
• If possible, reposition your chair mat so that the grippers are entering the carpet pile in a slightly different horizontal/vertical orientation. Making slight alterations on the mat position and alignment with the carpet pile may allow them to grip the carpet better for added stability.

Thank you,
