Very well made pump
very well made pump and was easy to install in my septic tank. Flotec was great to work with in regards to warranty of my old sump pump that was no longer made but still under warranty.

well pleased with pump purchase
This was the first sump pump I have had. Had to install from scratch which is no fun. Chipping concrete, digging the hole, filling around the basin and repouring concrete was not fun work considering that everything had to be carried up and down basement stairs. The whole while the basin kept refilling with water. Don't get me wrong, I saved a lot of money doing it myself and it is a DIY type project, especially if you are not fighting the water and keep your patience. Installing the pump and piping was the easiest and most fun part. When you are finally ready to fire it off and you get success it is very gratifying. I chose the 1/2 hp CI Proffessional pump because I didn't want to risk a smaller pump not being adequate, considering what was at stake. It was only about $30 more. It also had a five year warranty compared to the typical three years. Considering that it its still running every day or two, I am happy with my choice. I was also able to one stop shop the parts at HD.

Classic sump pump.
This was a sturdy pump that was installed with few problems. One thing I remember is that the hold down for the float cord was held to the pump with a small screw that had to be backed all the way out to adjust the float length. The screw was easily stripped. Work on that design would help, but overall a great product.

great sump pump
I was looking for a heavy duty pump since I get a lot of water in my basement. So far this pump has worked great. It is very quite and draws the water quickly. Install was as easy as I could expect. The instructions are well written.

Not a bad pump so far - use a different switch!
This is my 4th sump pump replacement in a matter of 5 and a half years. Needless to say I am quite frustrated with the pumps I have gone thru except for one - which has been my $88 quick fix back up pump that I've used when had 3 pumps go out. So far, this pump seems the quietest but it doesn't seem to discharge as quickly as a previous 1/2 horse Flotec pump that I just replaced. I've read a couple reviews where people weren't happy with the switch. I, too, have had frustrations with switches over the years so I simply disconnected this one and bought a separate one that mounts on the discharge pipe. You can also set it to whatever height you'd like the pump to kick on, so, im my case, I have it set a ltitle higher as my ground water level is quite high which means that previous pumps have cycled several times an hour. Now, here in the spring with the ground absolutely saturated, my pump runs only about once every 15 to 20 minutes compared to once every 5 minutes with a traditional tether switch. Honestly, the only other pump I was considering besides this one is a 1/2 horse Zoeller pump which is not sold in the big box stores, but it was about 50% more expensive. But as I said in the summary - so far so good!

Not working after 3 weeks
I had an epic fall with a sump pump. Went and had this one installed. Checked the well the other day out of paranoia and saw it was half full. Also noticed the rusted screws and was surprised. The ball was under water. I filled the well and still nothing. I grabbed a clothes hanger, lifted the ball above water and it clicked on. Off to test drive another...

Powerful, high volume, very quiet, well made.
If a better pump is out there, I don't know about it. This one is built like a tank, high flow, very quiet, and should last till doomsday.
