AnswersThe rubber piece at the bottom controls the water flow into the drain pipe. There is plenty of wax to flow around the flange to make a proper seal.

AnswersIt's quite thick and I have used it in your situation with no issues. You should feel resistance when pushing the toilet down to the floor. If, when placing the toilet, you don't have to push down on the toilet to make it reach the floor, just lift the toilet and place another regular wax ring on top of the thick wax and replace the toilet. Just remember, wax is not "springy" so will not return its shape once pressed.

AnswersYes it will BUT when you install the toilet you must feel the wax ring compress when sitting down on the toilet to make a positive seal, if it does not you need to buy the inexpensive single wax ring without the flange and STACK it on top of this and reinstall the toilet

With bath remodels, especialy on older homes, it's not unusual for the new tile floor to be above the closet ring (flange). This can cause an issue with less than the best seal between the toilet drain and the closet ring resulting in leaks at the base of the toilet. Whether a new install or re-seating of a toilet, I only use these extra thick reinforced wax rings. They provide the extra wax needed to bridge the gap between toilet and closet ring. With included flange bolts, a proper installation with a good. no-leak seal is ensured. The only thing I would suggest is using 2 of the old flange nuts and washers to "lock" the new flange bolt onto the closet ring by adding the bolt above the closet ring and tightening it against the top of the closet ring. (see drawing). This helps maintain the flange bolt tightness so if and when it needs to be removed, it won't just "spin" while loosening the toilet hold down nuts. *** One more note *** I NEVER use sealant to seal or "hold" the toilet to the floor. What this can do is hide any leaks in the wax seal. If there is a hidden leak for an extended time, the water damage caused in the floor or substructure can be very expensive to repair...

This product is a much better alternative to the smaller less expensive products.
The Extra thick Reinforced toilet bowl ring is only $1 or $2.00 more than the other models but the possibility of not working the first time is very unlikely. The extra bolts and flange make this product easy to install and provides a nice tight, secure fit.

Replaced a voltage detector I had missed placed. The new one is a much better voltage detector. I would recommend this one.
The Milwaukee voltage detectors is easy to use.
No adjustments are required when using. Detector lights up when turned on and has built in light that helps when using in recessed areas. I am very satisfied with this purchase.
