one thread plastic retaining nut
I have used these for years. They are a good product and I recommend them, HOWEVER, what I am dissatisfied with is on the latest model is they have changed the plastic retaining nut. The new nut only has ONE THREAD. That's one thread of a plastic nut keeping your house from flooding. I don't trust it. I reused the old retaining nut for this installation. Even if the nut material were made of nylon, I would not trust a one thread nut.

Fixed my broken filler valve quick
I had a valve that went out and look at the options out there and went with this fluid master performax. I've always had great service life with the vast line of fluidmaster products and decided stick with the brand you trust. This filler is adjustable being able to regulate the water flow from the tank to the toilet. I'm also very happy with the overall noise, it's much quieter that most I've heard. I highly recommend this filler valve and the simple install.

High pitched whistle and then constant “hiss”
This is the second fill valve to go bad in less than a year. First, it produces a whistling noise while filling, then a constant “hiss” when full. I took it apart to see what’s wrong, I figured it’s garbage anyway.
You can remove the top cap assembly with a slight CCW twist, but doesn’t show the issue. You must remove the cap from the valve arm to see the problem. The picture shows a constant spray of water after the toilet is full and it is shut off.
Customer service said to buy a new one.

design deficiency
The shutoff flotation valve on this unit works well, but the height adjustment has some serious problems. There are two height adjustments that set the water level in the tank. A fine one, with the screw on the side, and a coarse one, which is on the main black tube with a very coarse thread. The main one is held in place with a grey plastic grip, that, after a few months loosened a bit for me, such that the water pressure pushed the whole assembly up, making the tank water overfill. I had to put a big slug of glue in that coarse thread to keep it from moving. See the white stuff in the attached picture above the marker tape (ignore the brown tape on the picture). This is just poor design. I have one on one toilet that is working oK, but this second one failed.

Worked well in kohler toilet, quiet
I put this in my Kohler large toilet. It worked great. The float is nice and loose, so it floats well on the water. It was easy to install. Premeasure the height needed by twisting the unit. Then insert into the hole in the tank and tighten the nut. Attach water line. The flow out of the tube can be adjusted also.

Toilet Valve That Works
The Fluidmaster 400ARHR Toilet Fill Valve is an ideal replacement for any standard toilet fill valve. It's inexpensive, easy to install, works great & saves water. Can’t ask for anything else. I have used several other brands and found this one to work the best. Unfortunately, because of the hard water and rust in our water the valve only lasts for a few years. With that said, it’s easy to install and works.

Glacier Bay Dual Flush Fill Valve Replacement
Worked perfectly to replace the A2417 Fill valve on a Glacier Bay DB41 Dual Flush Toilet. Super Easy Installation, about 10 minutes. I'll be replacing with this everytime instead of rebuilding/repairing the seals on leaking fill valves from now on.

Super-Fast install on a 30 yr old Fill Valve
I've had thia tank & bowl in my family for nearly 30 yrs. The only things ever changed were the tank bolts & washers, flapper & pull-chain. This time the old American Standard fill valve started to leak from the top (yellow cap).
Found out the Fluidmaster 400h Promax is a better fit & updated quality. Ease of install. This was a breeze although I have experience on other toilets in the house.
