Yes it will work on quart size. I just bought one for a recent project and it worked fine for the quart size paint can I purchased. Just put it on the inner part of the can and it will leave the channel on the top of the can paint free

Good luck! I barely got it to fit gallon cans.
It does fit a quarter can. I just used it and it was easy to put it on. One side is labeled "START HERE" and other side "FINISH HERE." It's hard to see, so look at it at an angle.
I wouldn't think so, although I haven't really tried. It's fairly stiff, and many people seem to have trouble even with the gallon cans. I'd try using cardboard, which I've seen done successfully on YouTube.
