I apologize. I answered this question incorrectly. This sink does come with mounting hardware and is just like pictured by a previous post. My husband and I were anxious to view the basin to make certain it wasn't chipped etc and in doing so did not pay much attention to the cardboard packing pieces. But after installation while I was picking up trash I noticed the hardware was taped to one of the cardboard inserts.
It is a solid weight sink. Will definitely take two to install. The sink has to rest on the pedestal. My former sink basin, although it had a pedestal, was mounted very well since we had a 1 by behind the drywall so we could bolt directly into that. And because the top of this pedestal is not exactly flat it must be installed under the basin (think of it being sort of 'locked in place'. Before we could pull the pedestal in and out of place...it was more for looks. Unfortunately, we cannot do that with this one but the looks make up for it.
It is a bright, snow white. It matches very nicely with a delta toilet and a white tub/surround we installed. It is not a creamy white.
If you look past all the specs and review section there is a section called "more info" click on the pdf and it will give you the rough view. It's not very good with giving you dimensions,
I ordered on line. It did take a couple of months. Be patient, you will be happy with sink.

The base does not sit up against the wall but there isn't alot of room. Every design is unique so it's difficult to answer your question.
I purchased this sink because it fit my price range and I too liked the look of it very much. Yes, an 8 inch centerset would look beautiful but due to my plumbing already in place for a 4 inch this sink was an option. It looks and works wonderfully. The flat top surface proves to be sufficient even more so because of the 4 inch faucet. The only negative comment I would share is with this sink and all pedestals installation is difficult. There just isn't much room to work while installing the plumbing.
Hey Lindy Thank you for your interest in the Black Pedestal Basin Combo, The bottom of the back is closed with a 4" wide opening and then opened all the way to the top back with a 5" wide opening. Hope this helps in your purchasing decision. Foremost Customer Service
Dear Anonymous, Thank you for your interest in the Foremost Structure Lavatory Pedestal Sink Combo in White. Unfortunately, the specifications are incorrect stating that the sink has a recessed soap dish. This model does not come with a recessed soap dish, but there is plenty of space on either side of the faucet holes to sit a soap dish. Thank you for bringing this discrepancy to our attention and we will work to have the website updated with the correct specification immediately. Thank you, Foremost Groups Customer Service Team
