Im confused about the weight if this item. Manufacturer says the 140 FC-i is 19 lbs. Ace says 9 lbs. Is this the same unit or a smaller one that the manufacturer no longer shows? perhaps a typo by Ace?
Asked by: Jerry
This welding unit is extremely light weight for a welder unit. I am not sure on the exact weight measurement of this welder but I do know it is super light and easy to carry around from one place to the next. I was impressed on how light weight this unit was and impressed on how well it works. I was concerned upon the unboxing due to its light weight but after using it a coupe times my worries went away. I am so glad I made this purchase!

Does this fit in a 120 volt socket

Asked by: ROWDY
Yes, This welder has 120V 20A plug on the end of the cord and a adapter for normal 120V 10A/15A. Don't run it without proper breaker size, you do not want to lose power in the middle of a weld. Welders need proper cool down time, without power it cannot cool down properly.

What is the thickness limit on welds

Asked by: Jo
I am not sure its limits on thickness of metal welding but I sure gave it a run for its money. I started out with sheet metal turning the the amp to level 2 and a quick touch made a perfect tack weld. I moved up to 1/4 in angle (bed railing) moved level up to 5 and had no issue making a good bead. Then I moved up to metal 3 times thicker than 1/2 inch and still had no issue running a good bead still at level 5. I love this super light weight little welder. My first welder was a 90 amp and did not hold a good bead, then I purchased a 120 amp, it did a little better than the 90 amp but still did not produce a good bead. Than I purchased this 140 amp and it produced a nice bead and no issues on the different thickness of metals I practiced with.
