This isn't for a 6x6 wood post it's for a 6x6 PVC or PVC wrapped post.

The square seems pretty good but the screws are very cheap and very difficult to unscrew and screw back in once out I could not get them back in

      4x4 post cap. It’s nice, but you need to silicone around the top base/post for no water to get underneath cap (not a tight fit). Over time cedar deck/post will rot quicker, because it’s unable to dry. Not for Pacific Northwest weather. Will be returning on-line product to Home Depot, what a shame to.
