Simply remove one spring end, using a hack saw cut to fit and reinstall spring end and install in towel holder.
I don't know the length, but they have three different lengths available. I cut to size.
You have to cut it to fit with a hacksaw. Easy.
It is all plastic, so I don't think rusting is a problem. Just remember, it is not very strong and should someone lean on the towel bar, you will most likely be replacing it again.
