Their are 5 holes in each flange. You can choose the ones that hit your studs. Don't remember how many screws came with it. you can always get more screws.

The overall width is 19-1/16 in. and the mounting holes are 16 in. apart.

I use Franklin Brass a lot and haven't been disappointed yet. If properly mounted I would trust these grab bars for an overweight customer to hoist themselves off the head.
