The website says "bright stainless steel". I was wondering if it is like chrome finish? The rest of my bathroom accessories are in chrome finish. I hope this one could match. Second question is that anybody have issue with securing the rod, because the end caps/flanges have little depths? Thank you so much!
Asked by: Maomao
It is just as shiny/mirror-like as chrome. However if you hold it up to a chrome fixture you can detect a slightly yellow/brown tint, but it's subtle and won't be noticed unless right next to a chrome fixture. Securing the rod is straightforward but you will need to cut it to an accuracy of about 1/4 inch

The bracket attaches with two screws and then an escutcheon snaps over the rod and bracket to give a nice looking finish. The lip in the bracket that catches the rod is only about 1/8" deep, so I discovered that, once the first bracket is up, it is helpful to snap the escutcheon over the bracket which supports that end of the rod more securely while the second bracket is installed. In my case, the rod was a bit too long, so I had to cut it to size. I used a hand hacksaw so that I could make a nice straight cut without damaging the finish of the rod away from the cut, but I probably shouldn't have worried so much about it as the escutcheon would have covered any such errors. To measure the inside dimension accurately, I placed my 4' level against one wall and then measured the distance from the end of the level to the opposite wall. Trying to measure the distance by just pulling the tape across the opening yielded a slightly long measurement so I had to cut the rod twice. As I said, the rod is sturdy so cutting twice wasn't any fun.

The rod itself measures exactly 60 inches and can be screwed in as is to a standard alcove's wall. It can be cut down with a handsaw or oscillating tool to a shorter size to allow for tiled walls. This comes with regular wood screws. There is a small chance that you might not be screwing this into a stud, although typical alcove construction demands a stud at the tub's edge. If you can't find a stud, use screw-in drywall anchors for this. This thing is good and solid and will provide many years of trouble-free use if installed correctly.

This shower curtain rod is pretty much average in most respects, the quality of the rod and hardware is of good quality material and seems like it will resist rust and corrosion as well as any other shower rod on the market. Given that the rod is exactly 60 inches, if your shower enclosure is anything more or less than 60 inches this rod will not work. If your enclosure is less than 60 inches the rod can be cut, but that will take considerable effort. There are other shower rods that are on the market which are adjustable which may be a better choice when adjustments need to be made.

It's basically a stainless steel tube with stainless support ends. The hardware is also stainless, so nothing will rust. You can scrub it, use any cleaner, and re-polish it if you want. The tube itself measures exactly 1 inch diameter, and is 20 ga (.034 wall) thick. It is polished to a shiny finish. The mount is 2-piece. Thick plates are screwed into the wall with the included 2" long screws; the plates are almost flat. Then the domed end flanges snap over the plates. Dimensions are critical - if things are just right, you can install and remove it by simply popping the flanges on and off. The end plates have a clearance of about 5/32 inch. If your shower opening is 60-1/4 inch, then you can mount the end plates first, and then the rod; this allows easy removal of the rod by simply popping the flanges off. If your shower opening is exactly 60 inches, then you will need to slip the end plates and flanges over the rod before screwing them in, and the rod will be semi-permanent. All this assumes of course that you are not going to cut the rod. If you have a way of making a clean cut, then you can trim it as needed, and any opening under 60-1/4 inches will work. If your shower opening is more than 60-1/2 inch, this shower rod will not fit. No instructions or helpful hints are included. In short, as long this fits your shower, it's super nice, simple and durable.

Whether mounted to studs or using good quality sheetrock anchors you will not have problems with this shower curtain rod slipping on the wall or coming down all together. The bright stainless steel finish is very attractive and easy to clean with a simple wipe down every once in a while. The bar itself is also easy to cut using a metal blade in the sawz-all, I had to trim mine down just a bit for a good fit. Snap the mounting scussions in place and you have a solid, sturdy curtain rod.

It is straight, not curved (I found it a little hard to tell from the photo online). It seems like heavier guage metal than most rods, and seems like it could hold up to a lot of use without denting or bending. The finish is nice. Although it takes a little more work to install (make sure you measure properly before cutting), I prefer these to tension rods because there is no joint for the shower curtain rings to catch on.

This is a really nice polished stainless steel shower curtain rod that is one piece, cut to length to fit your enclosure. Although installation is not too difficult it is critical that the rod be cut to the exact length of the opening. A hack saw will cut the pipe. What I really like is no more getting hung up on the joint that you find in most rods. When you slide the curtain on this rod it is smooth as glass from one end to the other.
