Coil Siding Nailer is designed for working on siding, cedar shingles, roof and wall sheathing, and wood fencing, and is compatible with 15° plastic collated coil siding nails from 1-1/4 in. to 2-1/2 in., and 15° wire collated coil siding nails from 1-3/4 in. to 2-1/2 in. The tool-free finger depth adjust provides fast and easy control of the depth of the nails, while the comfort grip handle reduces fatigue and increases accuracy. A no mar safety tip prevents damaging your working surfaces. This air powered nail gun also contains a 360° adjustable exhaust to direct air away from your face, and an air filter / anti-dust cap to keep internal components free from dust and debris. A belt hook, safety goggles, air connector, air tool oil, and adjustment tools are included. The Pneumatic 15° 2-1/2 in. No this is a coil wire weld nailer, the nails come in rolls like roofing guns.

Can use 1 inch nails or l-1/4 with this nailer

This siding nail gun can use different size nails depending upon whether you buy "Plastic Collation" or "Wire Collation" type coil nails. The collation is simply the material that connects all of the coil nails together. It is sacrificial as the gun pounds in each nail, this plastic or wire is sacrificed. If using plastic, this gun can shoot nails ranging from 1-1/4 inch, but not 1 inch according to manufacturers specification. If using wire collation, then the smallest you can go is 1-3/4 inch. I prefer plastic as I feel it wears the gun less. I also pefer a longer nail, especially when doing engineering wood siding.

Can i use this for vinyl siding installation?

Asked by Glenn August 29, 2019

Answers

very handy with coil nails but I have had problems with double fire it has fired maybe 1000 nails and had maybe 1 dozen double fires as far as for vinyl siding no and this is the reason when you nail vinyl you don't I repeat do not want to nail it down tight the siding needs to move during hot weather if nailed tight it will create waves anywhere its tight due to expansion and contraction the best way to prevent this is use roofing nails and a hammer and not nail tight you will get a much nicer job that you will be happy with for years to come I use mine on hardi plank that's a concrete product

Worst tool I've ever purchased
After reading reviews just now, maybe it was the freeman nails that were the cause of a double strike maybe 1/3rd of the time. It doesn't matter how careful you are, it's going to happen... over and over and over and over and over. After 1,000 LF of siding, i threw it to the ground in disgust and borrowed another nailer... This piece of junk cost me time, and material... and a bit of my sanity. Home Depot has just got to NOT drive the prices down so far. And should not carry junk like this. The only thing that gave me any sanity was taking pictures of some quite humorious messes so I could post this review.

I am a handyman by profession and often have jobs that require cement board installation. I had such a project coming up and therefore did quite a bit of research on pneumatic siding nailers before making my purchase. This one was one of the top four and the least expensive. I purchased to install cement siding on a 1200 sq. ft. two car garage and work shop project. It did a great job right out of the box. However I recommend reading the instruction manual first as there are adjustments you need to make prior to loading the nails. Otherwise it requires little adjustment once the air pressure is set correctly (about 95 psi in my case). This nailer works with both wire and plastic collated coil nails. I purchased the plastic collated variety and they worked perfectly. I am quite please with it's performance and would recommend to anyone looking for an inexpensive and reliable product.

This was a great product for the value. The included instructions were not great in showing how to adjust the nail adjuster plate to reflect the size nails being used. Once I figured that out, there was minimal issues with using this tool. I used this for a fence replacement using stainless steel coiled nails.
