Does the nailer shut down when the cartridge is low on nails?

Answer

Jim, maybe someone else will be able to give you a "100%" yes or no answer to your qeestion, but I would say No it does not shut down automatically when it runs out of nails. I have numerous nailers and non of them do, so I add nails to the nailer in between the little "tasks" on the job.

How much pressure does my compressor need to generate in order to make this tool work?

Ray, I use a small "pancake" style for portability which came from the factory with a pressure setting of 80 # kick on and 105 to 110 psi kick off. When using the nailer with 1/2" to 1 1/4" inch nails it works good throughout the entire pressure range if the material is pine. If you plan on using longer nails or harder wood, I would make sure the pressure stays above 95#. Hope this helps.

is this tool oil free?

No, this pneumatic pin nailer requires lubrication oil.

There doesnt seem to be any battery included

Even though in the description it does use the word cordless, which would make you think it works on batteries, it actually only works on your air compressor, see the first word of the description "Pneumatic"

I have gone through a few hundred nails and it has operated flawlessly so far. It seems to be well made and even the case is sturdier than the cases for my other nail guns. I would buy it again.

This is such a great nailer. It is so lightweight which is very important to me. I do not like using heavy tools for any project unless absolutely necessary. I can fix my cabinets, any trim work that is damaged, my molding which really needed it and of course any small projects I have coming up. I am so glad it is easy to load as well. What a great tool. Thank you.

This will become my most used nailer. I started using pneumatic nailers a little over 12 years ago after many many years of doing all that assembly and construction by hand. Even though I have another nailer that uses the same guage micro pins it cannot use pins that are 2" long which sometimes I need. My previous nailers all leave pretty nice "dents in the wood that then has to be filled and ? this nailer sets the pins just below the surface and it did so with the air pressure starting at 90# all the way down to 60# and with the soft tip there were no holes that needed filling, which is a great time saver. This is a keeper.

Freeman Pneumatic 23-Gauge 2 in. micro pin nail gun with a molded carry case. I have not heard of this brand before, but I am very impressed with the look, feel and overall quality of this nailer. I like a pin nailer for more intricate furniture assembly and doing crown molding. The nail magazine is made of aluminum and is very light weight. It can hold pins as small as 5/8" or as long as 2".The magazine holds 100 nails. It comes with a swivel air connection making this very easy to hold and use. Very compact, but not too small.
