Will this work for this wood?Malibu Wide Plank French Oak Point Reyes 3/4 in. Thick x 5 in. Wide x Varying Length Solid

Asked by: Diya
I used this to nail down 2000 sq ft custom milled, various width/length, 3/4" solid walnut flooring over plywood. It was like working a puzzle. Worked great. There is a learning curve. My wife (64 years) and myself (64 years) did this in about 2 weeks. Watch youtube videos. Good luck.

Do you need an air pressure machine to use this nailer

Asked by: Mike
YES. This unit is a pneumatic nailer and requires an air compressor capable of delivering 90-110 psi for this unit to work properly.

Asked by: mars
I used it on 3/4" unfinished Hickory. If it can stand up to that, oak will be a non-issue.

What is best size cleat/nail for 3/4" oak flooring

Asked by: Dan
16 gauge x 1-1/2" "L" cleat. I used 1-1/2" so they would not penetrate the 5/8" sub floor.

Pneumatic 3-in-1 15.5-Gauge and 16-Gauge 2 in. Flooring Nailer and Stapler with Case is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 149.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well Worth The $$$$$$ Needed to install 3/4 inch oak distressed flooring. Couldn't make up my mind to rent a gun or buy one. Most guns I looked at were between the $4oo and $500 range. I decided to look online and came across this kit at my local HD. Read the reviews which were favorable and the price was really reasonable for a flooring nailer. So I took the plunge and bought it. Let me tell you. This thing worked flawlessly from start to finish. Not one misfire or problem with this gun. Seems very well made out of quality parts. And with a 7 year warranty how could I go wrong. Set my compressor at 100 PSI and every staple was driven in PERFECTLY. I own a lot of quality tools and none have impressed me as much as this nailer. Freeman knocked it out of the park with this tool. Where do you find this quality at this price anymore? I have never wrote a tool review before because you get what you pay for and it's no big deal. But this gun at this price point, I figured if helped some other guy in my situation why not. So men if you need a good tool without breaking the bank. THIS IS THE ONE.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Floor Nail Gun I was installing flooring in the living room, dining room and the main hallway. I had a bid to have it installed and it was just over $2,000 for labor. I decided to do it myself. I looked into a local rental house and the cost to rent a floor nail gun was $110 for a week. I did some internet searches for nail guns and found this Freeman nail gun. At first I was a bit reluctant because the price was much lower than other brands. I did some more research and found reviews from other individuals that had purchased this gun that provided positive reviews. So I purchased my gun. I like the idea that this gun will use a staple, T-nail or the L-nail. I also researched the type of nail to use and settled on the L-type. I drove just under 4,500 nails on my project and did not have a jamb until about the 4,300th nail. I probably jinxed myself. I was so proud that I had not had a jamb and then I had one. I probably just needed a rest. Clearing the jamb was easy and it took me about 2 minutes to clear it. I MUST SAY THIS GUN WAS AN EXCELLENT BUY AND RECOMMEND THIS NAIL GUN TO ANYONE.

I recently remodeled my kitchen and first floor Living Rm, Dining Rm, Foyer. I put 3/4" hardwood hickory throughout the first floor. I thought about renting a nailer, but after looking at the rental cost and the duration I would need the tool, it was a no brainer to buy a Flooring Nailer. I looked at reviews for several different models and decided on Freeman. I'm so happy with this purchase. It has operated flawlessly and comes with everything you need, including a carrier case. I decided to use cleats, not staples, and it worked great. Seems to be very durable and there were no issues with jams or feeding. I used this with my recently purchased Porter-Cable 6 Gal. 150 PSI Portable Electric Air Compressor, 16-Gauge Nailer, 18-Gauge Nailer and 3/8 in. Stapler Combo Kit (3-Tool). Another great purchase from Home Depot. I'm a DIY junky and very meticulous. I love this purchase and would highly recommend it. You can't go wrong!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great stapler I have used this to put in over 700 sqf of hardwood and never had one miss-fire. I would recommend this to everyone. Only fault I had with this item was the fact that there should be a better way to see that you are running out of staples.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best bang for your buck The Freeman 3 in 1 is a great floor nailer and easy to use compared to the Bostich and other high dollars ones I've used some have a second grove where the shoe meets the tongue and if your not careful, the cleat hits in the middle of the board and you have to tear the board out, very frustrating. I took the gun out of the box and made sure the adapter plate was tight, put 10 drops of oil in it and loaded my cleats and away I went,I put down 750 square feet of Brazilian Cherry and used about 3500 cleats yes three thousand five hundred and I oiled the gun about every 200 cleats,I set my compressor at 100 psi and not 1 jam up,the gun worked flawless. I have not tried staples or T cleats but the L's work fine.I would defiantly recommend this nailer to any home owner or professional contractor. Thank you Freeman and Home Depot !!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Deal! I started a roughly 2000 sq ft ¾” oak nail down job myself, renting the Bostitch flooring stapler on the weekends. Realizing this project was going to take longer than expected I purchased a nailer for myself. Being an advanced do-it-yourselfer, but surely not a professional I didn’t want to invest in a high dollar gun like Bostitch, so I bought the Freeman. I have to say the Freeman nailer has done everything the rented Bostitch did, and more. I like the fact I can see the amount of staples that are in the gun without having to open the magazine. I also like the fact that it will use all three types of flooring fasteners. I have pretty much completed the job with the exception of a few loose ends, and this nailer has performed flawlessly. Just oil and go has been my experience. I would highly recommend this nailer to anyone looking to take on their own flooring project!
