Excellent Window AC !!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased this unit to replace 10+yr unit. Right from the start very pleased, lightweight, easy to assemble side slide outs. We are using unit in a combo living room / open kitchen room. Noise level is pretty good considering its a 10k btu unit. The Auto on/off feature is Great! Our electric bill has decreased dramatically since purchase last month. Looking at another unit same model (5-8k btu) for bedroom. Overall Very pleased with my purchase.

Compact, simple design made installation/operation quick and easy. Auto function works well maintaining 400 square feet of brick living area at 70 during triple digit heat. All the features of more expensive Wi Fi unit less the Wi Fi and digital remote. Fresh air, exhaust air vent, and drying function for high humidity. Fan is quiet enough to hear the TV and works well in auto mode. No vibration, no rattles, and no evaporator freeze up, The analog remote is simple and uses standard AAA batteries. Yeah!

This unit fit in a 19 inch wide mobile home window it was a very easy installation and it blows ice cold it's also surprisingly quieter than a GE 8000 that's in my kitchen window . It was delivered to my Mesa AZ Home Depot in about 10 days and curb side pick up and was lifted into my pick up by their employee. I would definitely recommend this unit and Home Depot .

Very happy with the unit. We have a enclosed porch that can get too 100° because of the non insulated windows and it can bring it down to the 70's.

Reason why I bought frigidaire brand is because I have an old one in another room still going like new. This one? Whoever built this model should be all fired. It leaks in the front, so I open the filter and the filter was installed backwards from factory. Not a big deal but remove the filter and the wire goes to the fins (guessing sensor) water drips down the wire which is hanging past the front of the ac causing one of the leak. Second leak is the coils side of fins drips on each other and splashes out (sensor wire also zip tied to this) third leak (same area) the fins screws in on bottom butt match to the front surface. When water drips down from condensation, it drips out. That should have a spacer and keep any drips in the machine. Ill just take sensor off and push it behind the coils, dont need it i want it cold so auto might not work. Next fab a plastic shield to keep the splashes in. That part shouldn't be open and should of been covered, you want air sucking through the fins. And if i can push the vent back I'll add a spacer for the screw. Where I live its very humid so the water drips out and right below is the outlet. Frigidaire better hope no lawyers are reading this. Void my warranty all I care. But I'm doing you a favor for your future builds. Your welcome frigidaire! One more thing, its not 6 way vent its just straight, left, right and up. No down. Home depot did a great job with purchase and shipping.

Needed an AC for a slider window that would cool 2600 cubic feet of space. I was not able to locate an AC specifically for a slider that would handle that much volume. Because this unit is significantly more narrow than other double-hung window units and has the cooling capacity I need,12K BTU, I purchased it hoping it would adapt to a slider window application. Fortunately, after the install and operation for a few days, it works great. I am attaching some pictures to illustrate adaptations suggested for the slider window application. The unit comes with two secured rectangular clips at the bottom of the unit which conveniently fit into the bottom rail of the window frame, helping to secure the unit. The unit also comes with side flanges. I was able to secure one side into the window frame quite securely, the other side--where the slider closes onto the unit---not quite as well. (These side flanges are intended as brackets for the expanding panels used to fill space with a double-hung window application, but with a slider application, not applicable.) I purchased an outside bracket separately to support the rear end of the unit. Per the bracket instructions, I located the bracket off-center a couple of inches so the bracket was located on the heavy side of the unit, that being where the condensor is located. A concern was the bracket foot, located on the on house siding, would slip downward. It is supposed to be self-securing via the rubber padding against the house with downward tension from the weight of the unit. Not being confident of this design, I inserted two screws into the siding below the foot to make sure it could not move downward. The front blocking "scenic" cardboard panel came from a big screen TV packaging and I supplemented that with another piece of plain cardboard behind it. Eventually I may replace the cardboard with plexiglass but the double cardboard provides great insulation, it will not get wet because the location is protected with an overhang and I enjoy the scenic view. The installed unit is tipped back 1/2" per the installation guide so condensation water drains outside instead of inside. While a strong young person could probably lift the unit comfortably by her/him self, probably best for two people to handle/place it. The main weight of the unit is located on rear left side as you face the front, so if just one person, pick it up from the rear, not the front. There is no cardboard bottom to shipping carton. Simple cut the bands and lift the cardboard off from the sides. The unit rests on a styrofoam platform. I have been running the unit on "Low" fan speed in the "Cool" mode. While the fan is audible, it is not annoying especially with the unit being located several feet away from where one is seated. And once the desired cooling level is achieved, the fan shuts off, dead quiet. It cools the space quickly and there is significant time between cycles, meaning it is quiet a long time before starting up again. Great option for someone looking for a larger capacity unit for a slider window application, just make sure to check your minimum width dimensions against the specs of this unit. If you have a further question as to my experience, use the "Ask a Question" option and I will follow the thread and respond. Stay cool !!
