Cold indeed
We decided to buy this unit due to windows being so small in my apt and it fulfilled our expectations. Love it

Easy Peasy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Does a terrific job of cooling our 18’ x 12’ living room (with cathedral ceiling) + adjoining dining and kitchen area! And minimal impact on the electric bill.

Did NOT disappoint!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the Frigidaire right after several out-of-character, unusually hot episodes in the geographical area where I live. I purchased my unit after much research and comparison. The forecast was that there would be more hot days. When it heated up, I was ready. I live in an 1100 sq ft upstairs apartment. My bedroom is on the 3rd level. I had to install my Frigidaire downstairs where the only window the exhaust kit would fit lived. That air conditioner cooled the downstairs enough to cool the area in my room upstairs enough to make it bearable. I am familiar with the Frigidaire brand. I grew up with it. My life experiences with Frigidaire advised me that a company with a long history of making refrigerators had the expertise to get this right!

DOE** BTU IS NOT 13,000
I ordered this unit because it says 13,000 BTU for ASHRAR and DOE. But according to the sticker on the box the DOE BTU is only 8,000. IT'S A SCAM!!!

Response from FrigidaireSupportOct 5, 2020
Hi, Gege! The ASHRAE and DOE ratings are different tests to measure the cooling power of an air conditioner. DOE was recently created to measure portable ACs, while ASHRAE is used for all air conditioners and is the one currently used to categorize them at large. The DOE rating for this model is 8,000 BTUs. It does appear that Home Depot has the incorrect information on their website; good catch! We will reach out to them to get it changed. ~Ashton Frigidaire

Don’t be fooled
The DOE BTU rating for this product is not 13,000 as advertised, but 8,000. Says so right on the box.

Using it in a the living room.first time.I never used a portable a/c before. Always used in the Wall or window units. This unit is quiet, I very happy, use it everyday, easy to install. Winter time I can roll into a the closet to store it. I drain it once a week,Takes 30 seconds of my life to do. You need to installate the vent hose. It gets very hot.. Went to home depot purchased Foil Bubble wrap for $18 and foil tape. I normally run unit at low fan 64 degrees perfect.. I don't believe I would ever buy a wall or window unit ever again.

This product is not 10,000 BTU per BOE as stated in the description. It is 6,500 BTU per DOE standard. It is 10,000 BTU per ASHRAE standard, but this standard is known to be inaccurate for portable ACs. Due the incorrect product description I can't recommend this product until the correct specifications are listed on the product page.

Hi, Dan! We understand your position. The DOE standard measurement of 6,500 BTU is listed in the product title on HomeDepot.com. Thank you for your concern! ~Ashton Frigidaire

Nice air conditioner
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this unit about 1 month ago 2 provide air conditioning for my garage. It's about 500 square feet it's a large room with a high ceiling and very very hot because there's no insulation in the walls or the Attic. This unit does get the room cool not cold but takes a couple of days to do it and it is understandable given the size of the cooling area. If it were just a bit colder it would have gotten five stars. The remote works very well the functions are great oh, it was easy to duct to out side of the garage. I am mostly happy with the unit hopefully it gives many years of service. I also wanted it in case of an emergency in the house if one of the air conditioners in the house goes out I would like to be able to bring it in and have it keep the house cool and I think it'll do a fantastic job at that.

I purchased this unit for my room because I prefer to be comfertable at night. This was easy to set up just remember as with all refrigerant products to keep it upright and give it at least a hour if it's been moved or tilted before running it. It does what it is supposed to do and cools really well for me. I did attach the drain to a bucket but since it's not that hot out yet or I only run it for air conditioning ot has not seen a drop of water. There is a small plug under the cap that must be removed to attach the drain hose and the hose itself has a big kink in it, its possibleto use the wife's hair fryer (dryer) to warm it and remove the kink and mold the tube for better drainage but of you do proceed with caution as you can possibly discolor it or at worst melt it. I attached the vent to the window without any screws and just sandwiched it in the window without any extra insulation and for me it's working good, the room is still getting cold enough to make my wife turn it off when I'm sleeping, luckily she has a big blanket that keeps her warm so that usually doesn't happen till about 4 in the morning, I assume at least because I sleep right through the night now. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking but do your research and make sure you get one strong enough for the area you want to use it. This one is rated at 13,000 BTU's both normal and the newer DOE rated which from my research adds in the heart produced by the unit itself to lower the score to the actual BTU produced a more accurate rating as the heat it produces if not properly vented will make it less efficient. On a side note it looks as if Home Depot has a contract with LG so if you're planning to grab one of these units at the store you will be disappointed because I have not seen any other brands in store other then LG and none of them are, on paper, better rated then this unit. Most the ones I've seen have lower DOE rating which from my conclusion and understanding means that they are not properly venting the heat the unit makes out or have lower quality vent tubes but that is just my educated guess, I have not taken apart either brand for inspection.
