Confusing Operating Manual
I scheduled a service call after purchased as the power loss LED indicator on the front digital display doesn't light up after testing this function by pulling the power. Also, about 80% of the time the compressor/fan turns off when the door is opened, unless the freezer restarts running after pulling the power. It would stay running after opening the door for a while, but shuts down later after opening the door. It is not a coincidence that it may be shutting down when completing its cycle as the door is opened, as it occurs way too often to be a coincidence. According to the technician after his arrival on 11-11-14, after conferring with Frigidaire, the LED won't operate until after an hour of no power. There was no information at the time regarding why the freezer turns off after opening the door, which is being investigated. The technician says it may be a function of turning off the compressor/fan so as not to blow out too much cool air with the door open. He is going to investigate further. The manual doesn't cover any of these instances, thus leading to this service call. Otherwise, the freezer works great, maintains the set temperature, and keeps all my food very well organized due to the great availability of shelves and adjustable door bins. If the issues reported are a direct function of how the unit properly operates, I highly recommend this freezer. The poorly documented manual knocks this down a star.

Nice Freezer
Even though Home Depot says it is not energy star, it actually is. Qualifies for the current rebate through our local utility company. This unit replaced our 12 year old Frigidaire. Love the digital thermometer and the interior light. It is a little louder than our previous freezer, but it is in our garage, so does not matter to me. Spacious with the drawer/shelving configuration. Great value.

Nice size, features & good organization
Especially like the pull-out basket which is great for so many odd shaped items. Love the digital temp display and alarms when needed. "Bookend" organizers are so-so but got some freezer baskets and everything is now organized nicely. Comes with the handle inside & handle attaches after delivery, which was wonderful to get it thru a 29" doorway opening. Replaced a 19-yo Frigidaire (still working fine & now for venison, etc at grandson's place) so hoping quality and life will be as good, although this new one runs a little noisy. Proper leveling helped the noise.

Looks good, runs noisy
Best value, is noisy, but holds temperature well. Nice features, easy to set up and install the shelves. Wire rack shelves are wimpy, as they bend under load.

So far so good
I bought this freezer to replace one that had served our family for decades. The features I'm most happy about are the door-open alert and the digital temp display on the front - very reassuring. I also like the configuration of the shelves, and expect the draw shelf to help keep small flat items from getting lost once we fill it. It cooled down very quickly upon delivery. I agree with others that the motor is noisy, so I wouldn't recommend it if you want it in your living space, but in the garage it's not a problem.

Better than expected
Well constructed, quiet, versatile and adaptable. We found we can store large boxes or individual packages alike. The door shelves have ample room for the smaller items as well. But the best part is the ability to read freezer temp from the outside and audible alarms for warm freezer, power loss and door ajar. If I ever need a second freezer, it will be this one.

Solid replacement freezer
Got this to replace another Frigidaire that slowly started leaking coolant after working without a problem for 17 years. Home Depot delivery guys were actually early, and did a very professional setup job. The freezer has worked well, as far as I can tell. It did make some pretty bizarre brief whistling noises for the first couple of days, followed by gurgling noises for about 1-2 weeks whenever the door was opened then closed. I assume this has something to do with the fluid in the defrost drain tube bubbling around when the vacuum is reapplied to the door after closing. It's quiet now, though.

Satisfied Customer, Good Product
Some other reviews said too noisy and flimsy shelves. I was concerned about that but we bought because I like the features. Mine is in the garage, heavily loaded. We never hear it inside. In the garage the noise seems no more than any refrigerator, The shelves are adequate when fully loaded with prepared soups, stews, etc - all heavy and densely stacked. My garage is hot in the summer so might have a problem then; so far energy usage is running about $5 per month with a mixture of hot to cool weather (Northwest Florida, September through mid December).
