Why is this called Electrolux when Frigidaire is written on the cooktop? Are these two brands the same?
Asked by: Josey
Electrolux is the name of the company which manufactures items like stoves, refrigerators, and freezers. (There is one located in St. Cloud, MN). Frigidaire is the brand name and I imagine Electrolux manufactures products for other companies.

Does the surface of this cooktop scratch easily? What are the recommended cleaners for it?
Asked by: Jane
Hi, Jane! Thank you for your inquiry. Coarse particles such as salt or hardened soils between cook-top and cookware can cause scratches. Be sure the cook-top surface and bottoms of cookware are clean before use. Before using your cook-top for the first time, apply a ceramic cook-top cleaning cream (available in most hardware, grocery, and department stores) to the ceramic surface. Clean and buff with a clean paper towel. Cook-top cleaning creams leave a protective finish on the glass that will make cleaning easier when the cook-top is soiled from cooking and help prevent scratches and abrasions. You are able to view any additional cleaning tips in the Use and Care Guide with the following link https://images.homedepot-static.com/catalog/pdfImages/9c/9c01fc0d-6863-47c6-a7c5-8c4e55a05e74.pdf. Which electric wall ovens are approved for installation under this induction cooktop? Can I install this above a GE electric 30" wall oven or a Frigidaire Model # FFEW3026TS4.4545?
Asked by: kimkau
Hi Kimkau. We recommend reviewing the installation instructions for how to install other appliances around this cooktop, the brand should not matter. The installation manual can be located below under Info & Guides. Kindly, Anna

It makes some annoying noises. Also it would be nice if the heating areas were marked with a bit more contrast so that it would be easier to keep the pan centered on it.

We did not want above board switches and the individual controls are easy to use with glide-slide touch controls. We were very pleased with the timer feature which is not on every stovetop on the market. There is also a child safety lock feature and a hot spot indicator which automatically shuts off once the stovetop has cooled down. The largest eye is 11-1/2 inches (larger than most) and all of the eyes feature auto-sizing and power boil. Power boil means that what used to take 5 to 8 minutes to bring a small pot of water to a boil now can be done around 3-1/2 minutes (as seen in the photo). Additionally, the power (wattage) use of an induction stovetop is less than a conventional electric eye stovetop. The price was half the price of competitive models. Cleaning has been a breeze. The appearance is really nice. We like the fact that the primary (large) eye is right in the center of the stovetop which means that any splatter is kept on the stovetop and does not reach the counter top or backsplash. Though we have only had the stovetop a month we expect the stovetop will serve us well for many years to come. The only downfall for us was going from a conventional electric eyes to induction meant the need to replace our stockpot we use for canning and our pot we use for straining pasta; the old ones were not induction compatible. And we would have preferred white rather than black to better match the other appliances.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heats up so quickly and cleanup is a breeze We have only had this installed a few weeks ago and have not had much time to cook on it yet. However my husband and I we're watching a pan of water come to a boil so quickly we were amazed. Then later after putting the pasta in the pan we were fascinated by how quickly it returned to a boil Truth be told we had a little too much water, and too much pasta in too small of a pan. We should have turned the heat down a little but we both stood there and watched while the pan boiled over and water was all over the cooktop. We lifted the pan away, and just as in the video on the Frigidaire website shows the majority of the water spill was wiped up instantly as it did not Scorch to the cooktop at all. We turned the element off and wiped away the rest of the spill so easily. A spill like this on our old glass cooktop would have been much harder to clean. So far we are both very pleased that we have chosen this induction cooktop, I was concerned that the black glass would not look nice set into our Corian countertop. Which is a creamy color, it kind of looks like the color of oatmeal. the Frigidaire induction cooktop looks sleek . I am very pleased [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Induction Cook top I bought this Induction Cook top in August of 2018. I did lots of research on it. I had a gas stove and now I am happy that I changed to the Induction. I am still getting use to it but I love how fast it can boil water. It cooks better than my gas stove. My husband don't cook much but he likes it as well. I also like how you have enough room so that you can put a grill pan on it.All of my pots and pans woks on the cook top, so I didn't have to buy new ones. Happy Happy. The wires are about 40". I only mention that because 1" shorter and I'd be stuck getting to the conduit! The wires exit the bottom right side so plan for that. Otherwise its good so far, but its only been a week. I will say the Electrolux unit we replaced boiled a qt. of water in about 90 seconds. This one it takes a little over 2 mins. Seems nominal but translate that to a large pot of water and it becomes a bit more consequential.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super fast. We have been using this cooktop for about a month. It has a super fast boil. We like the clean look (without knobs) and have found it pretty easy to clean. Most of our cookware worked, but still looking for a pancake griddle! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
