BUYER BEWARE!!!!
I cannot stress this enough; DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT. I ordered the 8,000 BTU unit April 19th. The weather was barely 80 degrees and it struggled and failed to cool my 180sq ft bedroom. It makes a HORRIBLE crashing noise from ICE melting in the coils and hitting the bottom. Its set to a sensible 68-70 degrees on low fan. Today, I woke up to a puddle of water on my window sill and floor. To say, I am disappointed is an understatement.

A really "cool" air conditioner
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a really cool air conditioner, perfect fit for my cabin by the lake. I mounted it in the loft so I love the remote feature, which also has a LCD thermostat display. This unit also does the job.

Outside light shines thru air vents
The air conditioner so far works fine. The only problem I have with this is the light that shines thru the air vent from outside which is bright and distracting when you are trying to sleep during the day. Why???

OK unit
Have used this model and prior generations for years. Good when they work. Most tend to short after a couple years and the compressor gets stuck on which will inevitably freeze the coils. Useless without remote temp sensing (the onboard sensors are about 15 degrees off from ambient temps). This one came with a bad remote, which is stuck at 32F for sensing. Bummer because like I said, when they work they’re great.
