70-Pint Dehumidifier with Effortless Humidity Control

I bought this in 2018 and now its leaking from all over base. I tried to remove air filter and saw big block of ice on back. Opened up the unit to see all condenser and evaporator coils frozen. Cleaned up entire unit including all ice (took 2 hours). Started again and same issue.

Works perfectly to keep our basement dry in the summer. Our previous dehumidifier was a small 30 pint unit that had to work non-stop and died after 3 seasons. This bigger unit achieves the same humidity levels by running much less frequently, even set to low speed. Compared to the old unit it's very quiet and I don't notice it at all unless I'm in the basement (the previous unit was noisy enough to be noticeable on the first floor.) We don't have a basement drain to use the permanent draining option so I have to empty the reservoir twice a day but it has a comfortable handle that makes carrying and dumping the water easy. At this point I'd highly recommend this product.

This is a great humidifier until it isn't. By that I mean it looks good and does a great job, but I have had two die on me in the past few years. Both with the dreaded FO code. The one I just replaced, I bought last May. I turned it off sometime this winter as it wasn't needed. When I turned it back on this May, I got the FO code. This was past the 1 year warranty but who knows exactly when it died as it was off for several months. Luckily I bought the Home Depot warranty with it, after having had the previous one die with no extended warranty. The plan was a replacement plan, and even though I could find several models in my local store, the plan could not find a replacement, so they refunded my money. The problem is that this years model was about $40 more expensive, and I had to buy another extended warranty. So in the end, I spent about $120 to get another working version of the humidifier I bought last year that one would have hoped would last for several years at a minimum. Yes, I am glad that by buying the warranty I got my money back, rather than having to buy one completely (again). However, these should not be dying within a year or two after purchase. This is the top rated 70 pint dehumidifier, but look online and see many people getting the dreaded FO error code. There is something wrong in the design or material; it is failing for too many people, in my opinion. Yes, I bought another one, because as I said it works very well... until it doesn't. I could try another brand but I don't know how well their model would work. Dehumidifiers, humidifiers, air purifiers, why are we forced to buy these things every year or two? Build something to last and charge more and it'll be worth it. I don't like having to spend a few hundred dollars on the same things over and over. More garbage for the environment. If you never get the FO code, or don't get it for many years, you'll have gotten a great machine. You just won't know until you know.

Seems well built. Easy setup.

My basement has an extreme amount of moisture. I have four dehumidifiers running. The 70 pt. Frigidaire picks up the moisture faster, bucket fills first above the other three. All four are different brands. The feature that stands out is it's ability to outperform the other brands One thing I like is the Frigidaire is also quite. I have had the Frigidaire almost a month. The Frigidaire exceends my expectations From now on I will only purchase a Frigidaire Dehumidifier

I purchased two different units for my home and for my office. I have watched the humidity levels drop in both place dramatically since the units were put into place. I have direct hose connected to the office unit and never have to drain the catch bucket which is nice since nobody is around on the weekends. I empty the drain bucket daily at the house and am amazed at the amount of water that is being removed from the air in the house ! The units are now cycling and keeping the house and office at a comfortable 50% humidity and I have even verfified separate rooms with humidity monitors. I bought this for our 35 ft. travel trailer. I was amazed at how well it works. It's surprising how much moisture it pulls out of the air. It has a float that will shut the unit off when the tank gets full. You set it to the humidity that you want and it will keep it at that level. I have used it for about three weeks now and it has pulled out at least five gallons of water from the trailer. I check it every couple of days. There is an optional drain/hose connection that you can get for it but this works fine for me. I would recommend this over using the moisture packs that I have been using in the past.
