I have 2 questions: Does this model come with a probe? How do I measure for width opening?

Customer Reviews

Frigidaire Gallery 27 in. Double Electric Wall Oven Self-Cleaning with Convection in Black is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 224.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from WISH WE HAD NEVER BOUGHT IT!! Ordered online through Home Depot. Delivered from Frigidaire (Electrolux Corp). Stayed in the box in our kitchen until the Home Depot contractor installed it. The electronics cooling fan made a lot of irritating noise when cooking. Called Frigidaire to repair or replace the fan. Meanwhile we noticed that the top of oven door that secures the latch was bent as if someone had pried it open. When the repairman came he noticed that the convection fan blade on the bottom oven was completely missing. The fan motor was there and running but...no fan blade! The ovens were installed on May 28. The technician came on June 2. Repair would have been quite invasive and require removing and reinstalling the unit (which weighs 235 lbs.). I declined such a repair since it was obvious that we had been shipped a maybe used, maybe cannibalized and certainly defective unit. Home Depot has refused the return on the basis that they require Frigidaire to repair it. BTW, I bought along with it a three-year Home Depot Warranty. Totally unacceptable. We are done with Frigidaire Appliances and are very disappointed in Home Depot. Always thought they were better than this.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very nice oven but has some issues Looks great, but has some function problems. The temp goes up to where you set it but then falls off about 50++ deg instead of staying where you set it. The oven always runs too cool vs. settings (checked with calibrated thermometer). You set 300 deg and it only goes to say 275. Bad news for accurate cooking. The depth of the oven should be good but the overly large convection fan housing in the back wall of the oven takes up about 3-4 inches of space; thus something like a large pizza box won't fit and let the door close. Not good. There is a fan that is supposed to cool the electronics (so it says in the book) that runs all the time when the oven is on and long after it is shut off and it pumps large volumes of heat direct into your kitchen. Very bad on warm days and runs up your cooling bill. This should not blow into the room. My old oven kept all the heat in the oven, not my room.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from PREHEAT TAKES 1/2 HOUR. There is no "Quick Preheat We bought this wall oven a month ago because it seemed to be the best of 2 choices selection to fit the existing space. While it looks nice, all preheating takes almost 1/2 hour, even selecting "Quick Preheat" takes about 1/2 hour. When you set it for the desired temperature and it "beeps" that the temp is reached and the light goes off it REALLY IS 100 degrees lower inside and has NOT reached the requested temp for either oven. (I bought oven thermometers to test as baking things was messed up when using using this oven due to temps being 100 degrees lower.) Thinking there must be defective sensors, I called and a Technician came out, checked the ovens, and called Frigidaire. BELIEVE IT OR NOT THEY STATED THAT THIS IS HOW IT IS SUPPOSED TO WORK AND NO REPAIR WAS MADE!! BUYER BEWARE!! Also one of the convection fans is very loud and rattles, which will be replaced but the entire wall oven has to be removed to replace the fan.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed I have had to have 3 service companies out to trouble shoot heating issues with this brand new oven. Not only has the service been completely incompetent (the first two companies arrived without any equipment to track temperature even though the entire reason for their visit was delayed and erratic heating complaint). The 3rd service person finally said "this is as good as it gets" - it takes at least 20 minutes to pre-heat, even though the oven beeps after about 7 minutes showing the desired temperature has been reached (it really hasn't - about 100 degrees shy) and takes about another 15 minutes to reach the set temperature. He suggested avoiding the "bake" setting in favor of the "convection" setting --- really---can you imagine a brand new oven that you can't "bake" in, but no offer to replace the oven. I've been "baking" in an ovens for over 40 years, but it's recommended that I avoid "baking" in this oven....because it really doesn't bake right. The oven also needed further temp. calibration. I guess I'll have to live with it but would never, ever have purchased this oven had I known how deficiently it operates and how incompetent the contracted service people are. Not what you expect from a brand new, nicer oven from a reputable company. Total bummer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Who engineered this? This oven was purchased to replace the Frigidaire double oven I already had. As it would have cost over $700 to repair, I decided to purchase a new oven. To my dismay, I discovered that this oven was the only one that would fit into the available space. I was hoping to upgrade my oven, but was unable to do so. I was informed that the fan in the oven would continue to run after the oven is turned off. What no one told me was that the venting of the oven is at the top of the top oven and blows warm/hot air into the kitchen. It is also at "face height" for me - it blows hot air into my face as I stand in front of the oven. It is an unpleasant sensation and the volume of blowing air seems excessive. It appears to me that whoever designed this appliance did not actually test it, or they would have vented it in a different way. There needs to be a change in the venting design! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great oven! I bought this oven about 6 weeks ago, I've been really happy with it. I did a lot, and I mean a lot of research on ovens and convection options. The fan does come on when warming and when using the convection feature, you can hear it but not very loud. It does take a few minutes to warm up, but I don't find it a problem as I turn my oven on when I start preparing the recipe. I did find in my research that most ovens now rely on the cook time feature in which you indicate a start and stop cook time. I don't like the fact that you only have one timer on the oven and have two ovens, but I think I'll get used to the cook time feature. The down side is that if you need to add more time on what your cooking you need to reset the oven baking mode again. Regarding the convection, this is my first convection oven and am very happy with how easy it is to use and the convert to convection feature is great, automatically changes the temperature. I baked 6 trays of cookies at one time and they all came out perfect, cakes come out very evenly cooked and my casseroles come out evenly heated. I have used the Probe (never thought I would use it) and it worked great and easy to do. The meat came out perfect and automatically switched to low warming setting. I don't have a warming drawer but the warming feature is great and warms at a much lower temperature than I could get on my old ovens. Pretty easy to use, I kept the instructions nearby for the first week and no problem after that, Love that it has 3 trays in each oven, no element is exposed on the bottom so cleaning is easier and the steam clean feature works well. Happy cooking!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Temperatures are never right I purchased this oven in the summer and noticed that it could not reach the desired temperature without increasing it beyond my desired temperature. For example: if I wanted it to get to 400 degrees, I would have to set it to 450-475. Sometimes when I was baking I would walk by and find that the 2 internal oven thermometers I placed next to the dish, read 50 - 75 degrees lower than the reading on the outside display. New sensors/regulators were installed recently, but this unit still does not reach the desired internal temperature...I am always having to look at the internal thermometers I placed in the oven and adjust the temp. settings. It is a bother. For a new oven, I was expecting more precision.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Erratic Heating We have owned this since February. It is our second double convection wall oven, first Frigidaire so we have a basis for comparison. We like the way it uses multiple elements to heat the oven. However, it does not maintain a consistent temperature. When rotating items that are baking, the oven will not reheat unless you restart the oven and reset the temperature. The readout continues to indicate the set temp (350), until it is restarted, will then indicate anywhere from 50-90 degrees less as it reheats (300). Recently when baking, we could not start the lower oven. Only one oven would come on.
