Are all four burners induction or just the front right?

Asked by: Curt
All burners are induction. Also, they sense what size pan you are using -- which is cool.

Does the induction burner light up when cooking?
Asked by: ACL
No, but if any induction surface is hot due to the heat transferred back down from a pot, the "Hot Surface" indicator light will be on.

We've been using our new stove for just under a month and so far we're very happy with it. We've had to rethink how we cook though, as this is the first induction cooktop we've ever had. We caught on though, after a little trial and error. Induction cooking is much more efficient than our old electric range. We really like the convection oven; food cooks faster and browns more evenly than with a conventional oven, although this range offers both and they both work well. My only complaints so far are minor ones: I wish there was a switch to turn on the oven light so I could see the food in the oven without having to open the oven door, which shuts off the fan and allows heat to escape. And when using the convection oven, the fan is a bit noisy. But other than these minor issues we've been very pleased with our purchase. I would recommend this range to anyone looking to upgrade from a conventional electric oven.

Our first Frigidaire Gallery arrived damaged, this was discovered by the delivery persons (with me standing there) while the unit was being un-crated at the rear of the delivery truck. There was a possible option of keeping the damaged unit and receiving a minimal discount or waiting on a new unit. We opted to take the replacement unit because the damage on this unit was to the rear leveling frame work and we were concerned that in the event we were able to bend the frame, with the leveler, back out close to its original state we still may not be able to level the stove correctly. Our second Frigidaire Gallery arrived with a slight damage to the front of the bottom storage drawer. This damage was not noticed until we were standing back away from the front of the unit and after the delivery persons had left. I called Home Depot and the sales person was going to order us a new replacement drawer, at our choice, however I informed the sales person of a concern we had. After being installed by the delivery persons part of the install is to test the operations of the new unit. Part of the testing is to set the oven at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. The delivery persons did this and requested we allow the oven to run for approximately 20 minutes to burn off the oils inside the oven from the construction/build of the unit. At the completion of the 20 minutes I noticed an extreme amount of heat to the center top and front of the induction cook top above the oven door. Our sales person relayed this info to Frigidaire and allegedly they did not feel the heat we noticed in this area to be correct, so they stated they wanted to replace the Frigidaire Gallery. We are still anxious to test out our new (3rd) Frigidaire Gallery, once we have it installed. Once we’ve had a chance to do a little cooking and baking, with the new Frigidaire Gallery, we may be able to give the unit a more accurate rating. We're currently using the Induction range top only. Advertisements for this unit state "Don't stress over spills with induction's easy-to-clean surface that generates heat only to your pan, not your cooktop, meaning spills can't burn onto the surface". They make it sound as if there is little to no heat to the surface of the induction cook top, I don’t believe these claims are accurate. If you’ve heated a pot/pan on a Portable Induction Cooktop Countertop Burner or an Induction Cooktop that area of the cook top where the pot/pan was sitting will be very hot due to the heat transfer from the pot/pan back down onto the induction cooktop surface, so be careful. We find the bottom drawer to be made of very light weight material giving it a cheap feel however the body of the stove above the bottom drawer appears to be well made and looks great. The induction stove top is incredible and nice to cook with. Our pans heat quickly and evenly, and you have a good range of heating options available. If you are not familiar with using an induction range remember to use less heat to start out and increase the heat as/if needed, you will find you use lower settings when using your induction cook top. There are some very nice attributes to using an induction burner or range top. If you remove the pot/pan from the heating area the heated area will stop heating (was that a mouth full). The induction cook top is well worth having and is extremely great for stove top cooking. We can’t give you any insight into the operations of the Frigidaire Gallery Convection Oven. We’ve used convection ovens in the past and they are hard to beat. As far as "true convection" compared to "standard convection" I'm not sure what difference it would make having a standalone fan or a fan with its own (additional or a third) heater. If the fan is moving around the heated air in the oven why would it require its own additional heater? If you are concerned with the luck or lack of luck, we've had with the purchase of the Frigidaire Gallery don't be. The damage issues are shipping and handling issues and could happen with any item purchased and shipped. As for the heat issue, this could be a very isolated issue and is being taken care of by Frigidaire. This Induction Range/Oven is very nice looking, and the controls are very responsive and easy to use. I'm sure we're going to be very happy with the unit.

I have used the self clean option twice and both times it left permanent damage on the oven door. The first time I used the 2 hour clean cycle and a burn mark showed up on the metal between the two glass panels on the door. The second time I used the 3 hour cycle and heat escaped and left a permanent burn mark on the top of the door on the stainless steel finish. The oven is 8 months old. Frigidaire will not do anything about it except send me some stainless steel paint and a new gasket. They consider it cosmetic, which is not covered on the standard warranty or our extended warranty. Unfortunately I will not try using the self clean cycle again for fear there will be even more damage. I LOVE the induction cooktop though.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from terrible Never have seen it work for over a month now. 2 service companies not able to repair it and they along with Frigidaire blame it on improper cookware, while the same cookware works on 2 other induction stoves.

A couple of basic guidelines and there you go! The thing that drives me crazy is the buzzing. If you use the cooktop or the oven, it will buzz. Yes, my range has been leveled. No, my pan isn't offset. The entire range buzzes. Has since we got it. What I love about it is how fast the stove heats up -- and no worries about gas. Very even and easy to control. If you turn it down -- boom. It's at a lower heat. The oven needs to be set 25 degrees cooler than recipes (haven't tried baking yet). That said, works fine. If you have it on too high, it just won't work well. You'll get little burned spots and the rest will be under-cooked. If you turn it down as recommended, it's fine.

We had an induction range before we purchased this one when we moved to a different house. We like induction cooking, it is more gas like than the typical electric range. We have the proper cookware and the convection oven is useful also. Unfortunately, after 8 months of use we turned on the oven to warm up some food and noticed a buzzing noise which we thought was the fan in the oven. The noise stopped and we thought no more of it until we noticed while cleaning up after dinner that the glass top had cracked all the way from the right corner to the front left corner. This was on a Sunday and just before we were haveing family come visit for a week. We bought the extended warranty an after calling Home Depot we were sent to the manufacturer customer service who said the eariest someone could look at the range was a week from the day we called. It remains to be seen what will happen but everything I read says when an induction range top cracks the ony thing to do is replace the range, It can't be fixed. I will be interested to see what happens when the service tech shows up, and how long we will be without a range until this situation is resolved.

I have yet to complain, but the biggest burner (front right) doesn't seem to be working correctly. The largest pan I have won't even boil water in that spot, and I bought new induction ready pans just for this stove top. It does get warm after 15 minutes on "P" power boost, but you don't hear the vibration like you do on the other 3 burners. The other 3 burners work great! I'm loving cooking with induction. The oven smoked for a while when first used, but that seems to have dissipated. I will update this review after I see what kind of service I get for the front burner.

I bought this range to replace an electric one that took too long to heat and then burnt the food. I am a life-long gas person and could not figure out how to control the electric. This induction range boils water in two minutes and beautifully browns food in the skillet. I now have perfect control over cooking level. It also is super easy to clean as food does not burn onto the stovetop. I have not really used the oven yet so I cannot comment on it.
